Geez. Can you imagine if we took Fail Morton with pick two that year instead of Cotch?
Thinking about it actually makes me feel a bit sick. :-X

If Grundy slides surely we must take him.....but I dont think he will.

Absolutely.  Ready made ruckman who loves kicking goals, and at 202cm and 100kg, would be instant second ruck and 2nd/3rd KPF. Would play round 1.  :pray

Grundy, riewoldt, edwards
Knights, vickery, shewards

Francis Jackson was making the draft selections so Cotch was always coming to Punt Rd  :thumbsup.

The problem was others were making the trade decisions that year  :scream.

Anyway back to the more pleasant present. Whoever the teams before us pick up there still should be a quality young gun that will fall to us at pick 9 if we've done our homework properly. If a Menzel and/or Stringer go before our pick then even better as it'll mean more of the other young guns talked about as top 10ers will be available for us to choose from. I'm a bit of a Sam Mayes fan although I've got a feeling we'll stick to a Victorian kid this year be it a Macrae, Vlastuin or whoever.

In Inside Football's individual profiles, it has 15 players whose draft range is "1st rounder": (in no particular order)

Whitfield, Toumpas, O'Rourke, Wines, Mayes, Membrey, Menzel, Stringer, Plowman, Daniher, Simpson, Clurey, Jacksch, Macrae, Grundy.

Plus an additional 9 players whose draft range is "1st/2nd rounder":  (in no particular order)

Garlett, Garner, Graham, Kennedy, Lonergan, McIntosh, Shaw, Vlastuin and Wright.

And yet there are 24 first rounders. So therefore they all need to go first round for them to be accurate.  :whistle

Could someone develop a list of names from Phantom Drafts that have us selecting a player at Pick 9 etc ...

Wouldn't be surprised to see us take a player like Macrae or Garner first and then more inside mids with our second round picks. Shame it's a weak draft for young rucks, would definitely take Grundy if available at 9 although I think it's highly unlikely.

As it's quite an even draft, I believe we'll see a lot of sides take home grown players as there's been a lot of go-home factor lately that will be influencing clubs. Might help us get the players we are after.
