Vlastuin rated highly obviously but think Stringer best fits our needs as far as extra mid depth and ability to go forward an kick goals (resting like Cotchy or Martin)...

read this blog which I thought summed it up nicely:

http://nadsblog.com/

all a bit of guess work but think if the knee's right then he's a good fit - from what I've seen and read he'd be a beast with Dusty

is it true he cant kick on his left because it hurts him?

heard he's started kicking on it again mate (apparently was using it at the combine and is getting more strength in it)...was rated a top 5 pick on talent by many recruiters...

reckon the dogs will take mayes at 6 probably target a kpd at 22  maybe tanner smith.someone like nick rodda may be there at 51.

still hoping like mad stringer slips to 9.ive been hoping for 3 yrs that we would get a crack at  this kid.
the real key is what gws do.
i can see whitfield grundy and maybe  stringer at gws as a needs thing.  its very close to best available anyway.
cant for the life of me be  seeing them overlook grundy.  they need a long term high quality ruckman and in grundy they have everything they could wish for.
stringer well to me he is the best available at pick 1 yet alone after. gws can afford to take the risk with injury having  picks 1, 2, 3 to get the best kid in the draft imo. they not only have 1, 2, and 3 but 12 and 14 and someone like mayes or orouke could slip this low.
come what may we should get a real good player at 9. my biggest lament is not having another couple of picks from say 45  to 60.
also it seems to me as general sort of theme wa kids are not being given due respect. i suppose thats a result of most comments on the draft coming from eastern states media.

Correct. And stuff me dead this kid is so overrated I feel sorry for him. Hope he goes Doggies so no one will watch his games. That should help ease him into it.  :whistle

Need a tough inside midfielder with pace and great skill with Pick 9.

One that will Hardwick would throw into the fire early and fast track him!

Expect Plowman to be one of the first 10 names read out at the draft. He could go as high as pick No.3 to the Giants if they are keen on picking a player outside of the midfield, but could as drop to the Tigers at pick nine or anywhere in between.

My main concern about Stringer is about the limp. Will it cause any problems elsewhere (hip, groin, hammies, etc...) over time with his body compensating for it?

Draft dodgers

    Emma Quayle
    The Age
    November 11, 2012

MOST years, there is one of them. This year there are two - Troy Menzel and Jake Stringer, talented teenage footballers who would be certain top-10 draft picks if not for significant injuries that have left recruiters wondering if their bodies will let them do what they want to do at the next level up.

Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/draft-dodgers-20121110-29577.html#ixzz2BpaIFppY

Emma mentions current and past AFL players who had injury concerns prior to being drafted:
Chris Judd
Joel Selwood
Jack Darling
Travis Varcoe
Beau Muston [delisted]
Dyson Heppell
Ayce Cordy
Robbie Tarrant
Callum Bartlett
Jack Grimes
Beau Dowler [delisted]
Elliot Kavanagh

Jono O'Rourke ... is firming as the Dogs' prized No.5 pick.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/pickme/western-bulldogs-hope-for-a-dream-element/story-fnau1fjg-1226514318419

So going by all the rumours in the media and on the net, the top 10 will go something like this:

1. Whitfield  - GWS
2. Toumpas  - GWS
3. Menzel     - GWS
4. Wines       - Melb
5. O'Rourke   - Dogs
6. Stringer     - Dogs
7. Grundy     - Port
8. Jaksch      - Bris
9.   ?            - Rich
10. Daniher  - Ess  (F/S)

That leaves guys like Vlastuin, Macrae, Mayes, Plowman, Garner, etc ... for us to choose from at pick 9.
