IS IT MAKE OR BREAK SEASON FOR MR VICKERY
« on: September 19, 2012, 10:35:00 AM »
Hi all,
Very keen to get thoughts on where we see the future of Mr vickery heading.
Is this make or break season for him. Sure he was injured this year but he is yet to reach the heights of what we expected when we drafted him so early.
west coasts lynch is on the market and would be cheap 300-350K a year would we consider taking him he is big strong and can kick 60-70meters as well as ruck.
hopefully vickers is hitting the gym right at this moment cause if he is going to play key position he needs to step up in 2013

He hasn't been on the list long enough to make the call IMO, 2 more years at least, we have given others longer and they still haven't reached any great expectations.

He will be ok provided he has a decent preseason free from injury and he backs himself in with the support of his team mates.

Could be the suprise forward/ruck of the comp next year..

Vickery stepped up in 2011 and was cut down with injury last year. We have all seen what he can achieve when he is fully fit so fingers crossed he can stay fit and get back to his 2011 for and beyond! I would rather persevere with Vick's than go down the Lynch path.

Ridiculous thread.
I think we all saw what he was capable of last season when fit.
Hopefully recovers from his shoulder surgery.

Get's a years break for me. Want him to produce more than he did in 2012, but don't expect as much as 2011 as he gets back into form

I am talking surprsie "of the comp" as in how Maric was this year....that would be a massive leap and don't tell me that wouldn't surprise you.

Vickery will prove his doubters wrong
Especially the pricks that layed into him this year when it was clear he was under an injury cloud..

Haters beware, vickery will transform like a rabid werewolf

vickery deserved every criticism he copped this yr. no one layed into him at all just asked for him to be dropped from the team as his form was deplorable.

as for the thread all he needs to do is improve especially in areas he is poor at.a 200cm 5th yr player time to start rounding the game out id say.

some aggression at the man and the ball and in ruck contests would be a good start. more contested marks would be great as well. more second efforts as well. another 7 or 10 kg would not go astray either. its this last that should give him the confidence to be more physical.
he needs to do much more off the ball his work rate at times is lousy.
kicking a few goals doesnt make you a good footballer or earn you accolades just ask jr.

big ivan is screaming out for someone to help him out this bloke needs to put his hand up as second ruckman his efforts in the ruck have been mostly insipid i never want to see that scared look on his face and watch him pull out again.
