10. HAWTHORN wingman Clinton Young will become a Collingwood player on Friday after leaving the Hawks as an unrestricted free agent.

Hawthorn has signed delisted Geelong rookie Jonathan Simpkin.

Simpkin, a goalkicking midfielder who played four games for the Cats this season, is the first player picked up under the AFL's new delisted player free agency rules. Simpkin will be on Hawthorn's senior list.

Delisted Geelong defender Tom Gillies has signed a one-year contract with Melbourne.

The 192cm defender, who was delisted by the Cats last month after just 13 senior games, has been training with the Demons in the hope of being thrown a lifeline.

He was snapped up in the Gillette AFL Delisted Player Period that elapsed at 2pm on Tuesday.
