Well I'm so glad we now know what the problem was....it was Dimma not Gus  ::) ::) and he preferred Wallace as a coach  :rollin :lol

And maybe Dimma wasn't "too fond" of playing you because when things didn't go your way you dropped your head and sulked more times than some of us care to remember but I suppose that was Dimma's fault too  ;D

He said he preferred playing a more attacking style of footy which is what he reckons we did under Wallet.

Let's not turn this into another bashing session.

Graham wants to be number one
By Harry Thring
Mon 22 Oct, 2012

NEW ADELAIDE recruit Angus Graham has a message for teammate Sam Jacobs: the fight for the number one ruck position is on.

"I've been number one before and I still think I'm a very good player and can take his spot, so I'm not just going to allow him to walk straight in, I'm going to fight over the pre-season and put my best foot forward," Graham said.

"I do think my best football is in front of me so I'm just looking to have a big pre-season, impress the coaches and just show them what I've got."

What spot is he talking about?
..... I reckon he can call it the G- SPOT.
C'mon goose show 'em what you got!

GO ALL IN!   :clapping
The club that keeps giving.

He's a ripper bloke, doesn't deserve all the poo he cops. Not sure why blokes hate him so much because he's an average player. I don't see people lining up to take shot after shot at Andrew Browne (who has done a lot less than Goose). I think there's a fine line between criticising a bloke for his ability and then bagging a bloke at every opportunity.

Not disputing he's a good bloke but a good bloke doesn't equal good footballer. As you said he's an average player.

My post was being critical of his effort as a footballer. As I said on the field when things didn't go his way he sulked, dropped his head and as a result of that it meant he would fail to chase, attempt to tackle or simply do the team things.

And perhaps people don't take "pot shots" at Browne because despite any or all of his limitations people didn't walk away from games saying he didn't have a dip or didn't work hard

I was actually having a joke Coach but since you asked..........most are not having a crack at his character.  But since when has a football fan's forum not been the place to have your 2c about a player's ability and worth to the club?  Jackson, White, Dea, Thursfield, Tambling, Bowden, Johnson are just a few names of recent times that I can recall being known as splendid citizens but didn't stop the fans vitriol towards them and their football output.  The thing is for almost all of us on here the only vested interest we have in common is our football club and how it performs, and when a player puts his hand out for payment for his efforts towards that cause then he becomes open to the criticisms just as much as the accolades - it's the nature of the profession.  It might not sound fair or be fair but each and every single player is acutely aware of what they are getting themselves in for when they embark on a path of professional sport, especially in the case of football that evokes such intense emotions from the fans.  They have the choice to stay or go so when they choose to stay, they choose to accept the whole package for better or worse.  So for me personally, like all players that have represented our club, I thank him for his endeavors while he was here, wish him all the best for the future, but there's no escaping that a spud is a spud is a spud.

I've resisted for the first 9 pages but ill say my goodbye...
I always thought he had potential, but unfortunately that was never seen at RFC
Possibly a fresh start and a new club might bring some good out of him.
I was there to defend him and say he could turn the corner at any stage but ib was also there to slap him across the face with a trout when he stuffed up. I'm guilty of both

One good memory of Gus I had is in the 2011 H&A against freo at the G, it was just before the siren and Gus was outside the 50 kicking to the punt rd end from a set shot. He went back and drove that ball right between the sticks, perhaps even to his own amazement. That goal helped to give us a buffer ( along with ty vickey goal?) And in the last quarter we went on to dismantle the dockers

Thanks Gus and good luck!  :thumbsup

My first memory of Gus was at coburg, he attemtped to run at the ball and tripped over his own feet, saw him do it fairly often in his first year, he's come a long way  ;D  Wish him well, glad hes no longer on our list - nothing personal just dont rate him.

Coach you have repeated the "Gus is a ripper bloke line several times". The only time I was close to him was at a Coburg and Willy game where 'Goo' badly sprained his ankle in the first quarter. The affected area blew up like a balloon and Goo was obviously distressed. Gus thought it was very funny and pointed him out to several team-mates and laughed like an immature schoolgirl. Goo didn't see the funny side at all. It was bad form. >:( Gus will flounder at Adelaide as he has done here because he has character flaws that were exposed by Dimma's accountable style of play that demands commitment and courage..

Hahaha that's funny. Goose used to tell that onballers jokes at every centre bounce. He's a ripper bloke.

He's not really. Has few friends down at the club. Most of them hate him.
