For something that's not normally the genre of movies I watch

Chick flicks?

Animation movies actually

Things from Pixar in particular

Action flicks aren't normally my thing

Much prefer old movies from the 1930s-1950s to the bulk of the rubbish made today

from the song "Don't Walk Away" by Pat Benatar 1988 (Wide Awake In Dreamland)

Off to the classic yesterday arvo and saw a movie that probably isn't everyones cup of tea." Love and mercy'.It was about the life of Brian Wilson the heart and soul of the beach boys.It starred  john cusack and paul dano, who played Brian Wilson at various stages of his life. The movie had many directors one of which was brian Wilson himself..
Interesting and entertaining insight into the troubled but brilliant soul that is Brian Wilson.
I give this

Off to the classic yesterday afternoon and saw "Trainwreck".
Its stars American Amy schumer and host of American athletes of who the only one I knew was le Bron james(only because he was refered to as such, would have much preferred if it was Dustin martin and crew).
Anyway the movie revolved around the Amy character sleeping around and stumbling across true love.
The movie had some very funny moments especially in the first half.the latter part wasn't as funny and the ending was somewhat lame.I give this

Chappie - one of the worst movies I've ever seen - negative 5 Bills...

I hate it and I hope you do too....

I enjoyed it but I have liked just about everything from Blomkamp and Copley. I guess the story itself could be perceived as pretty average but as an Asimov fan it touched on one of my biggest question concerning robotics and that is a true, sentient AI could just not give a stuff about the 3 laws.

Meant to post about this the other week

We went to the movies for the first time in who knows how long

Went to see the latest Mad Max movie "Mad Max: Fury Road"

For something that's not normally the genre of movies I watch I thought it was absolutely brilliant. Charlize Theron steals the film, simply outstanding.

Great thing is this movie sticks to traditions of the first one, yep that one made 35+ years ago.

No hesitation in giving this

Thought it over promised and under delivered. Was expecting a lot due to the hype.

Just watched Southpaw and loved it.

Enjoyed the story and the boxing scenes were quality.

Just watched The Coherence. It is an independent sci-fi thriller with the dude who was Xander in Buffy. Budget film and was largely unscripted which is something I didn't know before hand. It is about 8 friends who are having a dinner party the night a comet is making a close fly by. Most reviews give away too many spoilers and it is best to go into this film knowing nothing but the title can give you an idea if you are at least a little familiar with quantum physics.

Great film, will likely watch it again to nut a few things out as it is quite the noodle boiler. Four Bills only because five is reserved for the masterpieces.

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy last night (trying to catch up on all the stuff I have saved on the IQ) and it was a pretty decent pick me up after yesterday. Been really getting into the Marvel stuff. Have both the Captain America films sitting around that I hope to get into soon.

went to the Deckchair cinema last night and saw a film called The Wolf Pack, as part of the darwin film festival.

It is really a documentry and is about a family who lived their whole lives in their new york apartment, never venturing outside, except the dad to get food etc.

A mildly interesting story but a poo boring film. the highlight was seeing a small bat swoop down and take a large moth from in front of the screen but after that i just wished it would end.

no bills for this drivel.

Saw the "Intern" yesterday at the classic cinema.
It starred Anne Hathaway and Robert deniro...Dealt with the issues of the elderly in the workplace and of the pressures in a modern work environment.Very much a fluff piece .Didn't really explore the issues. However it was certainly pleasant and  a little bit funny,i give this

Caught the late show last night at the Classic..Saw the last instalment of the hunger games.
I wont rate this because it doesn't deserve a rating it was like watching an episode of the bold and the beautiful with I think 2 action scenes of note thrown it....Good riddance to this series.
