Rendell was sacked in March not January.

You cannot pin the Melbourne fiasco on Mifsud, he reporting what a player told him

As for the Melb situation, a similar scenario, he was told something in confidence by a player and then went and spoke to someone else about it.

Mifsud came clean at an AFL media conference on Tuesday afternoon, where he revealed he told Thomas Neeld treated his indigenous players differently to their non-indigenous teammates.

The Community Engagement officer issued an unreserved apology to Neeld, who refuted the claims made in Thomas' blog on Fox Footy's On The Couch on Monday night."

Mifsud also had to apologies to Aaron Davey after mediation

"AFL official Jason Mifsud and Melbourne player Aaron Davey have met to discuss the events that led to columnist Grant Thomas publishing false information about the Demons and their coach Mark Neeld in a blog, with Mifsud saying he will continue his role with the league.

Thomas wrote that Neeld had one on ones with his white players but spoke to Aboriginal players in a group, comments the new coach was upset by and had his club complain to the AFL about.

He also phoned Thomas directly and had the comments retracted.

Mifsud, who was issued a warning by the AFL for leaking the wrong information which he apparently believed came from a conversation he had with Davey, has said sorry to the Demons' star."

As I said it's his ethics I have a problem with. If what was said in January 2012 was so offensive why did it take unitl March for it to come to light when he gave an interview with the Age? Why didn't he march straight into headquarters and do something? Better yet why didn't he say something to Rendell when it was first said 

Regarding the Melb thing what the hell was he doing talking to Grant thomas about it?

Stupidity, poor mistake, naive, call it what you like but he had got off very lightly. It was unprofessional and as I said shows questionable ethics at best.

And to think now the AFL wants to have a pow-pow with the clubs run by Mifsud on the very issue that Rendell raised in the original conversation because there was a low number of indigenouse players drafted this year just beggars belief

If anything is grubby it is the AFL leadership of the whole saga.
They complicated the issue and it snowballed unnecessarily.

On this point we agree, the AFL showed no leadership that's the problem

after the rendell fiasco, no one will will want to talk about the real reasons as why young indigenous people are not being drafted, let alone to Misfud.

The real losers in this will be the exact people Misfud is paid to help, and as I've said before, the game will be poorer for it.

The Indigenous All Stars will play the Richmond Football Club on Friday February 8 at 7pm at Traegar Park in Alice Springs, supported by the Coles AFL Indigenous program.

Michael O’Loughlin will coach the All Stars and will be assisted by Roger Hayden, Adam Goodes and Shaun Burgyone.

The match will follow the AFLPA Indigenous Player Camp that will take place in Alice Springs from February 5 to 7.

Richmond will also head to Alice Springs on February 6 to conduct its Australia Post AFL Community Camp ahead of the match.
