8:01pm AEDT Sunday, February 10, 2013Richmond General Manager of Football Craig Cameron has resigned to take up a new role as CEO of BC3 Thoroughbreds.
The Tigers’ chief executive officer, Brendon Gale, said Cameron had done an outstanding job in his time with the Club.
“Craig has overseen significant change in our football program in his five years in the role. There have been important changes to our coaching, development, list management and forward scouting structures under his guidance,” Gale said.
“Craig advised us recently that he was looking at taking a different direction with his career, and we understand his decision, wish him well for the future and thank him for the great contribution he has made to the Club.
“Our plans are locked in for the season ahead, so the timing of this decision will allow us to undertake a rigorous process to identify the right person to lead the football department into the future.”
Cameron said it had been a difficult decision - one he had been considering for some time - but, ultimately, he felt the timing was right.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Club, and I want to thank President Gary March and the board, Brendon Gale, Damien Hardwick, the players, and everyone I have worked with so closely in the football department, for their support,” Cameron said.
“Everyone at this Club is working very hard to deliver the fans on-field success, and I wish them all the very best for the future.”
