No mention of it on the radio RT but the article on the AFL site says it appears Tambo did his hamy in the last quarter:

Any news to confirm if Joel's got a depressed cheekbone?  :(

When asked about him, Gaspar said in an interview that Joel was moving around in the rooms after the game and seemed ok.
I took that as meaning "I don't know." :-\

re joel, he is having scans today, suspected broken cheekbone

re bling, the rfc have been pathetic in the management of his body and injury! they continually use westerrm medicine methods with the back realted problem and pump injetcions into him, i have advised greg miller how tehy should approch this injury but the thick heads at teh club who think doctors poo gold wont listen!!!!

i am fricken mad because they just wont listen and could destroy this kids career b4 it starts

LMAO X, good luck getting them to switch to alternative methods. What are we talking here? Acupuncture? Tiger balm? Scented candles? Would rather have our players in the hands of someone with a conventional sports science degree than a bong pulling crackpot. The credit for Brisbane's physical advantage was often given to being the first to introduce state of the art scientific methods. Decompression chambers, drips, cool rooms etc.

Danny Frawley introduced pilates and the swiss ball in place of weights and it did nothing for us.

PS I'm a sceptic.

Tigers optimistic on Bowden

Tigers optimistic on Bowden

Paul Gough
Sportal for afl.com.au

Richmond is hoping reigning club champion Joel Bowden has escaped serious injury following his accidental head clash with teammate Chris Hyde during Saturday night's thrilling win over Brisbane at the Gabba.

There were fears Bowden, last year's winner of the Jack Dyer Medal, had suffered a fractured cheekbone and the Tigers will not know for sure until the deputy vice-captain undergoes a scan on Monday.

However Richmond football manager Paul Armstrong told afl.com.au on Sunday that Bowden had pulled up better than expected following the clash with Hyde - who himself was returning after missing three matches with a fractured skull following a sickening head clash with St Kilda's Matt Maguire.

"Joel has pulled up well this morning and the doctors are really happy with him," Armstrong said.

"We will have to wait and see what happens with the scan but we haven't ruled him out for next week at this stage."

The Tigers, whose season record moved to 7-2 following the thrilling four-point win over the Lions, will be desperate to have Bowden available for next Friday night's clash at Telstra Dome against Melbourne, which is just one game adrift of Richmond with both sides in the top four.

But while the Tigers are hoping Bowden will be available they will definitely be without gun recruit Richard Tambling, who has succumbed to his second hamstring injury for the season.

Armstrong said the Tigers' No.4 pick was likely to miss at least two matches, ruling him out of not only the clash with Melbourne but the following week's even bigger clash against league-leader West Coast at the MCG.

The Tigers are likely to replace Tambling with either Daniel Jackson or Andrew Raines with Brent Hartigan still not ready to resume from a hamstring injury while ruckman/forward Greg Stafford is also likely to return to face Melbourne next week after being a late withdrawal for the past two matches with a foot injury sustained against Carlton in round seven.

??? Dr Pete Larkins said this morning Joel will need an op while Tambling is out for the next 3-4 weeks.

I pulled muscles in my achilles a couple of weeks ago, and the first person i went to was not my doctor, but Dr X lol
And he gave me some exercises (and none you're thinking of lol) and fixed me up a treat.
So I'm inclined to give X a listen to and hope the club does too  :thumbsup

Dr. Peter Larkins
Herald-Sun

Joel Bowden

CHEEKBONE: Injured the right side of his face and cheekbone in a collision with the head of teammate Chris Hyde at the Gabba on Saturday night. He was due to undergo X-rays and scans after returning to Melbourne yesterday.

Doc says: Richmond expected Bowden to require surgery and he will miss 2-4 weeks depending on the extent of the fractures.

Richard Tambling

HAMSTRING: Re-injured his left hamstring in the final quarter of Saturday night's game against Brisbane.

Doc says: As this is the same hamstring that Tambling injured earlier this year and with his history of back problems, Richmond is likely to keep him away from football for at least 3-4 weeks.

my brother is a very respected gonsted chiropratcor in australia. he is currently in japna conducting seminars there and will be back this week. he treats back related hammys, calfs , groins, o.p. p;ubic instability, u name it every day with unbelieveable results. at the time when otto went and had back surgery he was fuming as his injury was easily fixed with his techniques but they took medico advise and operated and thus we had a heavier, less mobile ,less agile , slower player who lost that 10% which made him stand out!!!

hammys are treated wrong, esp when they are back related , they are caused by a subluxation of the vertebrae in the spine , something doctors cannot diagnose because they dont know what they are or what they are looking 4 thus cannot adjust it to fix it!!!!

all bloody morons, if a doctor told them to eat a monkeys turd and it will help them they would!

From the Herald-Sun:

Quote
Paul Armstrong said dashing youngster Richard Tambling's hamstring injury wasn't on the same leg as his previous strain. "It was higher than the last strain he had, so it's just a matter of getting him into the rehab again,"

Just let Turbo have time off until his back/hammy problem is right to play at this level without breaking down. Even if the year is a write off it's more important in the long term to get his body right as we've sen with Cogs albeit a different injury.

u r right he needs the rest to recover but it wont just fix itself esp when its a back related problem, massage and injections and exercises will do squat! he needs an adjustment, he needs to be assessed properly, diagnosed properly and adjusted properly and all fixed its that easy but these fools beleive that doctors and physios know all but they are as useless as t@s on a bull!

i emailed greg miller about this 1 mont ago, i told him thnis would happen to bling, in my email i explained how the afl's method of rehab with back rel hammys is all wrong, but they are all tossers and as i said b4 , if a doctor told them eating horse poo would cure a hammy they would do it
