In yesterdays game, i thought there were a couple of times between q1 and q3 when our players could have taken blokes out but never did. Coughlan went close...in a terrific effort to take out i think it was there young ruckman...in a fair bump but afew others in our side didnt seem to be up to it. In particular I felt Simmonds had an opportunity atleast once maybe twice...but he never went thru with it. To be successful people, we need the killer instinct. Simmonds needs to lay the hip and shoulder when its there. We need more Coughlan like aggression.

i think the new trubunal system is making many players think twice about their actions

That was a great bump  :thumbsup.

Agree with X that the new tribunal system is making players wary. If you mistime the hit or the player crouches and you get the bloke in the head you'll be looking at a few weeks enforced time-off. Also I think coaches prefer their players to go the tackle rather than the bump as if the other player just bounces off he still has the footy and  the coach is pulling his hair out.

Coaches do prefer their players to go the tackle rather than the bump.

And you can absolutely lay someone out in a fair tackle anyway. Its all about technique as well as aggression.

I think the tigers should use a guy like Dean Pay or John Muggleton (both x league players who coach defence) to work with a few of our players next off season.

If Tuck or Cogs were taught properly they could send a few of the opposition off on a strecher over the course of a season, and in a totally fair way to.
