True, at last years AA he didnt even mention Lids when giving the rundown of the team, just brushed over him and mentioned another HB who didnt make it(cant recall who though).

Maybe some posters who think Mike uses potential also might be on the money.
In that case Ellis ,Grimes, and vlastuin should be in there too

Jacks got the.potential to finish with 12 Coleman yet didn't make it...

All of these guys rate Cotchin higher than Milhouse, the only exception being that Footy Show buffoon Shane Crawford.

On page 68 of the HUN today (sorry Cyclops I couldn't scan it in) there's a pretty good and legitimate whack at Mike Sheehan for excluding Jack from his top 50. Alot of ppl dislike Jack for his perceived attitude, I like it and and think its good that he brings that real ranga flair to the fwd line. Stuff the haters  :cheers

Also yes Lids was stiff, as was Jack and Eevan but it would take for us to win multiple premierships before we had 5 players featured in his top 50 and really who gives a flying fk anyway? We know where they rank

Is Crawford serious?  Cotchin not in the Top 10 but Goddard is?     :wallywink    As Wayne said, what a buffoon!!!

And Jon Anderson:  4 Hawthorn players in his Top 10 but no Kennedy or Selwood.

Seriously, these guys get PAID to comment on football!    :help

The fact that Cotchin ranks at 2,3,3,2,3,5 according to 6 of the 7 of those blokes says more about Cr0rf than anything else.

Birchall that is funny - will get exposed as the one sided, down hill skier, contest avoider he is now that Suckling, Whitehead & Young are no longer about to take the main source of forward defensive pressure.

Agree mate. Too many robots in today's game. Blokes with a bit of personality are few and far between and are often demonized for showing emotion. I reckon it's a shame.

Sloane is a good young player, yes, but there is no way in hell that he is better than Lids, or Jack for that matter.

Richmond related replies from Mike Sheahan's live chat today ....

Comment From James
If Brett Deledio isn't considered a better player than Scott Selwood at the end of this season I'll eat my hat

Mike Sheahan:
A lot of Richmond people will be hoping you are right. But Selwood is underrated player who won West Coast's best and fairest last year and he's younger than Deledio.

Comment From Your Name
Prance Franklin so high but no Jack Reiwoldt? Were you drunk?

Mike Sheahan:
Yes Ando has taken me to task in the Herald Sun ... in the nicest possible way! While Riewoldt won the Coleman Medal, he won with 65 goals - not even three a game. The All Australian selectors left him out and his own club rated eight players ahead of him in its best and fairest award. Nice boy, Jack, but needs to get his attitude right on the footy field.

Comment From Jess.
Andrew Swallow at 35 and Deledio at 31. Any reasoning behind that? Two of the most underrated players in the game, should be top 20 IMO.

Mike Sheahan:
Both good players, both have a little bit to do to be rated elite.

Comment From Mike
You mention jack only kicked 65 goals, yet he kicked more then Walker while also having a limited preseason while carrying a truck load of injuries. As his opps at the end of the season prove. I'm also staggered you think Jack will have such a poor year! has taylor walker got the consistency of jack ?

Mike Sheahan:
You talk about consistency, I think that's Jack's problem. He certainly needs to work on his attitude, which is a view held by most of the Richmond supporters too. If Jack worked as hard as Tex he'd be in the top 10 too.

Comment From Matthew
Mike, you've obviously been burnt more than a few times by the Tiges. Why not just let it go and rate the players as they should be rated.

Mike Sheahan:
Do you mean burnt as in let down? I've been conservative about the boys from Punt Rd for quite a while and history says it's probably been a wise strategy. Just for the record: I have three Richmond players in. Not a bad representation for a team that finished 12th last year.

Comment From geoff
hi mike the only point i want to make is that you have compilied your top 50 on what you think they may do for the year so for example say jack was to win the colman medal would that then place him at number 9 instead of walker at the end of the year as you say in your opinon walker will win the colman and that is why you placed him at number 9[/b]

Mike Sheahan:
The post season list is a reflection purely of what players did in the previous six months. Jack was in the 40s last year, but I must say I thought it was a disappointing performance overall.

Stuff me Sheahan is a knob. If those other forwards were more consistent than Jack they would have kicked more goals. More than happy to put in Cloke and Walker but they had blokes finish ahead of them in their B&Fs too. Gave Dusty a mention and by his own justification on Jack he shouldn't have included Martin either.

Surely could have dropped any number of the random name drops like Rich at 43 and given Jack a token mention.
