Trying to find scans of old sponsors logos
« on: May 24, 2005, 03:46:21 PM »
Good afternoon.
My name is Mero, I am an AFL Historian trying to find scans of the Tetley and Bond COrporation logos from jumpers in the 1980's.
Does anyone have a close up pic, or scan of the logo that I can use in my History of AFL/VFL jumpers page:

www.angelfire.com/ok/fbtmisc/merojumpers.html

(On this page I state that I didn't do the sponsors logo, well, now I am trying to)

Mero,

I will have a looke through my old scrap books this evening. I do know I have an old Tetley badge that I took off a jumper years ago.

Regards

Welcome Mero  :).

One of our members Bull kindly scanned and emailed us his swap card collection dating from the early 70's to the present. That may help you find what you're after. Just a note that normally the photos of the players correspond to the previous year that the swapcard says it is as they are usual printed prior to each footy season if that makes sense. So the 1978 swapcards uses pics from 1977, 1979 are pics from 78 etc. Mero you can use the arrow buttons to move between the various years.

1977: (CUB logo 1977 - black outline not filled in): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1978.htm

1978: (CUB logo 1978-79 - black outline filled in with white):  http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1979.htm

1980: (Tetley logo 1980-81): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1981.htm

1984: (Esso logo 1982-86): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1985.htm

1987: (Bond logo 1987): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1988.htm

1988: (.05 stop sign logo 1988-89): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1989.htm

1990: (drink drive bloody idiot logo 1990-93):  http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1993.htm

1994: (drink drive red cross logo 1994): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1994.htm

1995: (TAC logo 1995-2003): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_1996.htm

2004: (Motorola logo 2004- ): http://oneeyed-richmond.com/memorabilia/swapcards_2004.htm

Also 1998-2000 the clothing manufacture Lotto had their name on the jumper. 2001-2003 was Nike. 2004-2005 was the tiger head.

Plus there was no back sash (black with yellow numbers instead) from 1995-2004.

Cheers and good luck,

      MT.

Actually, the Tetley pics aren't clear enough for what I need.

WP, if you could, can I get a copy of the badge off the jumper?

Here's how 1987 turned out (it's designed for a white background, so doesn't look quite right here) :

Also thought I'd throw in 1982-1986 for old times sake.

Mero,

I scanned the Tetley badge last night but had to scan & print a whole stack of old B&W photos for Ma Powell last night.

The pic is on my computer at home I will email through this evening.
