Changing coaches won't turn around things in the short-term but with the right coach it can give optimism that in time things will come good. Some optimism is what Melbourne really need otherwise members won't re-sign up again next year which would be something Jackson would be thinking about.

i feel for neeld, taking over a club that had a cancerous culture of setting out to deliberately lose games of football. he has probably had to strip things further back than hardwick did, yet still had the same board/administration that developed the rotten lay down culture. their recovery will be slow and painfull.

I have no sympathy for their supporters who rejoiced in a loss, for they are now reaping what they sowed.

I doubt there will too many Melbourne supporters singing our song if (  I should say when, but there is always that inbuilt darkness from years of disappointment) we beat them next week.

I would hope that all richmond supporters encourage any remaining melbourne supporters to join in the singing of our song, after all they have done it before. They do know the words.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

The Tassie Demons should come in. The reality is that MFC serves no purpose. They represent nothing. They have nothing going for them. Today only 13000 people watched them. Next week we will win by 10 goals at least. Melbourne is finished as we know them. They should make the hard decision and relocate to Tasmania.

That brand in a football sense doesnt mean anything. Melbourne as a city is made up of suburbs like Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, Hawthorn etc etc. Melbourne FC doesnt mean squat to anybody. They should go to Tassie or be merged with North Melbourne.

Will be lucky to see out the week

Only Peter Jackson can save him getting the boot

"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

from the song "Don't Walk Away" by Pat Benatar 1988 (Wide Awake In Dreamland)

Bit unfair for Neeld, Gold Coast is a much better team/list than Melbourne, the embarrassment factor of losing to the Suns is still there though. Suns over the Dees was one of the easier tips for the weekend.
And you may not think I care for you

All jokes aside the AFL needs a Melbourne football club in Melbourne, they've thrown money around Australia propping up shlt truck clubs and bought the swans a flag.
Whether you or I for that matter like it Melbourne is a traditional Aussie rules club and needs to stay IMO.

Yeah I heard that Gig i just can't  remember who it was but it was on the radio. Fair chance it was some knob like Harley or Spike Mcveigh.

From what I remember it was quickly dismissed as a laugh, that we need Melbourne in our national comp as its the name of the city.

They are a complete basket case. On and off the field.
