I know its only week 2 but I'm interested....
Us, the scum, bumbers and the saints just missed out with the cats and the Kangas just making it.

We've beating both the cheating scum and the saints in the first 2 weeks.  :gotigers

Where does the OER faithful think each team are at?
And which team is better poised to take the next step?
Will the cats finally fall out of finals?

The bombers, "again"  look good early.
The Scum are learning a new game plan and don't have a decent big bodied forward but look super quick to me.
The saints look like they've missed the boat as far as recruiting is concerned with only 1 pick ( Siposs) still playing from the last 4 drafts.
The Roos are looking very good with a very decent midfield and the cats just keep going like an energizer bunny, unearthing youngsters that look ready made players and they are super quick also.

Any thoughts?

Cramer St, Coburg? Errrr NO Coburg City Oval is in Harding St, Coburg while Cramer St is in Preston  ;D

But understand your point

Though think the Cats have the better list simply because their list is more mature, experienced

Dancing Man would be disappointed. A nice piece of work stuffed up by making such a small error. Better luck next time Bj.  :lol

Ok, with some thought I've come up with my list.

1) Richmond. Ready for the next 4 years / midfield depth is strong, defense looking good. Ruck depth poor and need to develop another KPF but just ahead of the bombers in list development IMO but its very close.
2) Essendon. About the same as the tigers. Probably have the best big man depth of the others but midfield is thin.
3) Nth Melbourne. Just behind Rich & Ess. / good spread of midfield depth and talls.
4) Carlton. Just ahead of the cats but question marks on their key position forwards. Seem very quick.
5) Geelong. Just behind Carlton. Significant retirees soon but excellent in how they've blooded youngsters & managed the list. Such a proffessional club It won't suprise me if they perform better than the others and prove me totally wrong. Recruited speed.
6) St.kilda. Big gap and a huge contrast to Geelongs list management.  Poor recruiting & far too slow in blooding youngsters to take over once older players retire.

There's not much in it and i could be completely wrong but looking at the lists in light of the next couple of years it's an interesting exercise.

Thanks for giving it a go Torch but I'm interested in your reasoning on your list order.

errrr NO, there is a Cramer street in Coburg. Although Coburg Oval isn't there

After last nights performance of the bumbers over in freo I'm second guessing my overall assessment of list quality of the bombers.
I had freo to win at 40+.
Is it that I may have underestimated the bombers or are they purely just playing out of raw emotion and love for the coach? Or have I over estimated freo once again.?
I might have to reassess my original order of teams vying for a top eight spot.
I think I will after we play freo.

P. S. ...I'm surprised I've had so few many takers on the posted question as I was very keen to gauge the perception of all the learned OER faithful.  :thumbsup

Where does the OER faithful think each team are at?
1. Cats - to much experience and seem to have the right mix of good players. 2 good forwards, 2/3 good backs (mixed opinions on Longergan) and a good midfield with a good ruckman in McIntosh if his available but also West to back up who can play good footy. Although quite old they have a few younger types who seem to be able to have an impact.
2. Essendon - good players insdie each arc with Fletcher + Carlisle and Hurley + Ryder with smalls who can be damaging. If some of their mids stand up alongside Watson and Stanton they could have a midfield that would be very hard to beat. Also rate Bellchambers reckon his still got room to get better.
3. Richmond - Elite midfield including ruckman (if he plays like last year). If Grimes can stay on we have 2 good backs in Rance and Grimes and possibly Chaplin (good so far). Just need to find that second tall foward which we seem to be producing in McGuane and Vickery. If one of them can prove to be efficient all year we over take Essendon.
4. Roos - Good midfield with some players who could take a step up and make it elite. Ruckman the same as Maric (except it was 2011 he was good wasn't it?). Have a very good full back and a reliable Firrito. Good forward in Petrie but seem to be in the same boat as us with a second tall with Tarrant and some other bloke whos name escapes me. Damaging small forward in Thomas. If their midfield gets better they could overtake us and Essendon.
5. Blues - Missing any tall forwards except for about 10 games a season they have 1 good one. Elite midfield and ruckman. Good full back in Jamison and a pretty good Henderson. Smalls seem to have struggled in tough games with no good forward to feed off.
6. Saints - 1 good forward and part time good forward with Kosi. Maister I reckon would struggle if playing against someone who wasn't a fourth tall (Batchelor). Good midfield with Hayes and Dal Santo and Motagna but then drops. Don't rate Steven. Great Ruckman who is going to pants a few Ruckman this year with Maric already being one. One good backman. To old with not enough youngs developing.
And which team is better poised to take the next step?
Richmond or Roos
Will the cats finally fall out of finals?
No
