The Next 3 Rounds
« on: April 14, 2013, 06:21:22 PM »
So we are 3-0 which is a good start

But.....

The next 3 rounds are huge no matter which way we look at it.

Pies, Freo and Geelong.

Two of them we haven't beaten in ages and the other coached by Ross Lyon and we have never beaten a Lyon coached side under Dimma.

Although I'm a believer of the "one week at time" mantra I cannot help but think what would be a good result at the end of this 3 week stretch?

For mine we need to win at least 1 preferably 2

I reckon we are show next week against the pies but the one I really want is Freo  ;D

Bring it on!

Pinch 1. Don't care which, just need to stay ahead. Collingwood will be tough, and may be unrealistic but the most doable. Freo will be strong at home and Geelong refuse to lose.

Would like to think we are capable of winning all three, though what is realistic is pehaps one win from those three.
I think we are playing a revved up collingwood after being trounced by 60 pts against hawks. Will be hardbtonbeat but as I said we are capable of beating any of those 3 teams on our best day, I just hope we bring our best day  :thumbsup

I think collingwood and Geelong are more winnable than Freo down there, either way i'll be happy if we pinch one. I'd almost add Port in Adel as a crucial game too, they are looking good so far.

2 out of 3 will see me booking my tickets.  1 won't concern me.  None won't be cool.

I'm tipping 2 wins 1 loss

Collingwood Win
Freo Loss
Cats Win

I'm in the same boat. But if we get pumped in any of them that's when I'll be disappointed for longer than just after the game

Jolly and Maxwell are big out for the pies.. maybe even Harry O as well.

I think Collingwood is doable. Without Maxwell they are vulnerable and we can exose them with pace.
Freo if we can get them in contested possessions and play a pagans paddock with Jack playing the Carey role and we can get over the flood on the rebound. We have the players depth and skills.
Furhtermore we need to exose McPahrlin but they are doable. We owe them for the G last year.

Geelong I fear is still a non negotiable. If anything we played them down there last year got done by 10 points in a season when thy never really got going and if anything they are fitter and stronger mentally and physically from last year and whilst our game plan is suited to the MCG the G holds no fear for the cats who we know have won 3 flags there.

Either way in 3 weeks we will have a better idea of where we are placed.

Reids knee hyper extension looked painful. He came back on, but you'd have to think he wont be near 100% fit next week.

We can beat the Pies but we MUST bring our A game and we MUST play hard uncompromising pressure footy. They have some key injuries so its time we gave it to them.
Freo is an interesting proposition. They aren't an easy team to beat on any given day let alone in Perth on their home track. But facts are that the bombers beat them their so why can't we? As popular opinion have it that we are better than the bombers so I say if they can do it so can we. We must learn something from their win.

Lastly, I've been saying this for years and I'm going to say it again.......,

The day we beat Geelong is that day I truly know the Tigers have arrived.

If we manage to beat the cats its Tiger time!  :gotigers

This weekend would have to give the boys confidence that both the Pies and Freo are gettable.  :shh

I think the Cats game is the toughest. Long as hell losing streak that I can't even remember beating them.  >:( :'(

Having said that, win the next 2 and who knows with the Cats one.
