Elusive skilful forward
« on: April 27, 2013, 08:23:27 AM »
Last  night confirmed our need for a goal kicking skilful small forward is an absolute dire urgency. All top 8 sides have at least 1, need one to make and win finals. I cringed every time the ball hit the ground in our forward 50 last night as their tall defenders mopped up when a small forward should have been there. Surely somewhere in this vast land there is a talented Indigenous forward that fits this description, it really has to become our recruiters priority.

Elusive impact SUB is also a need.

Hoping Foley can fill this void for a few weeks.

Nahas comes on as the sub and had Hill and Ballantyne make him look like he was running in quicksand. How can a so called quickish small forward come onto the ground and be made to look slow when he is supposed to be fresh.

they dont have to be indigenous though.

we also need a hit up type forward. someone that has a habit of finding space and taking marks inside 50 that has the opposition backmen pointing at each other and supporters going ape droppings wondering how the stuff they found themselves unmarked.

surely other teams supporters should go through what we do.  ::)

our whole forward setup seems haphazard at best.

I'd be happy to be in the 22 but young Robin obviously sees being a sub as a stigma.
Todd Elton would have been handy last night instead of Nahas.

Well i actually felt that Shed was beginning to make this role his own but last night he was forced up the ground as Tucky was absent and Lids was MIA.

Edwards will eventually go back to being one. Need 2 though with one being able to play midfield which is Edwards position. Geez it would have been nice to have pinched Walters 2 years ago.

So clearly depth is still an issue, need to swap like for like
Edwards would have had more impact in the forward line especially in a tight game  he couldve created a spark.

I thought nahas should have started on the ground , we had no one at fall of the ball all night in the front half

Why do they have to be Indigenous?
