This game is a huge test.
Our history against the cats isn't good but this game will show us plenty about our team.
Are we ready to take the next step? We are finally home which is a huge plus and as disappointing as the loss was last week we did show a lot of fighting spirit and almost won the game.
I think this game could be our breakout game as the hawks game was last year.
Now that winter is here Tucky must play.
I'd like to see foley as a sub think his clearance ability and burst speed could be valuable late in the game.
I think it's there indigenous players we've goto watch as the 3 of them are having a great year thus far & we don't have a great track record in stopping any good indigenous players.
I'm not confident but the Roos nearly beat them and we are better than them aren't we?
If we keep up that pressure and intensity we showed last week if we're prepared to work hard for a full four quarters,... Well you never know.
Geelong have hardly been impressive this year. In all games they have played this season they have at stages looked pedestrian but their professionalism experience and capabilities to win tight ball coupled with that winning mentality that has been nurtured and shown week after week year after year has come to the fore enough to get them over the line.
I personally think we are a real fighting chance this week if we can keep the intensity up for four quarters and match them man for man and scrap for every last morsel available.
For me the fear of Geelong and their aura is what has helped them at stages this year and if somehow we can overcome the fact that we may fear them and be starstruck by them they may be just have a dogfight against us.
They know how to play the G after all Flags are won there but I just feel Jack with the scrutiny may be itching to get out there and a few of our boys may just be ready to have big games full of the terms I used earlier and give us a real chance of toppling them. Have not beaten them at the G since 1999 so it has been a long time. Saturday may be our night.
I reckon Tuck and Foley as sub may just be what we need if we are prepared to risk it just to add some pace and get the pendulum swinging our way if Tucky or any other mid is starting to fatigue in the third term.
The onus is on us do we want an honourable 10 or 20 point loss where a loss of professionalism and lapse in concentration for 20 mins or so is where this game is won or lost or do we want to win this game albeit by any margin. I know what O want let's hope the 22 selected for us tonight think that way too. Much better feeling.
