Very disappointing this game but really shows that were are still a few KKP's and at least two more years off it. I really didn't think we were that far off but after the past few weeks we need to smell the roses. Buckle up for at least another two years of these results, maybe longer because......dare I say it......it looks like we have gone backwards compared to the competition this year to date. :-\
Correct WAT. Last night showed us exactly this.
We don't have great leadership either.

Tonight was further proof we are just an average "middle of the road" team.

I can't understand how some teams can regenerate so quickly .....yet the RFC is perminately stuck    in a state of mediocrity .
Correct Matty.
Just finals is our Mount Everest. Other teams seem to waltz right in but we just can't seem to get to the summit of finals footy. We are too soft. We don't have great leadership. We wilt under pressure.
We play dumb footy make stupid mistakes.  Last week mistakes was a breakdowns of the basic fundamentals of defensive footy mindset. We a mentally fragile and weak.

We don't have the same excuses as before. We were too young. We had players that hadn't played enough games. These excuses aren't the case anymore.

Last year it was the freo loss at the G when I new we weren't going to make it and last night I could see it too.
It's going to take a miracle or a massive change in attitude to turn this around.

I can't see it happening this year.

The club that keeps giving.

We were simply showed up by a better side. To be a good side you have to play one touch football. There were too many occasions last night where we fumbled when we should not have. We have alot to do to become a better side. Tick's game was outstanding. His handpassing in a pack to find a player was extremely good. Under Hardwick he has made considerable progress and good on him.

not to make too much of a point about it but we are poo. we are a middle of the road side. I see us finishing about 12th. Havent recruited properly - just bandaid jobs IMHO. Starting with Houli and Grigg and finishing with Knights Edwards and Petterd. Chaplin makes too many mistakes and seems to panic as well under pressure. Its just band aid after band aid at Punt Road.

Any word on Marics ankle or Tybones head?
Ty was staggering around like his mentor Lionel Hutz last night
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick is uncertain whether key talls Ivan Maric and Ty Vickery will be available for this week’s match against Port Adelaide, after both suffered injuries against Geelong on Saturday night.

Its been Orthodox Easter this weekend so the greeks and our other orthodox brethren probably go in large numbers to the game.

Blair Hartley would be on thin ice then.

he did what he had to do to get players to get us out of the basement. We are now out of the basement but he needs to find us players to get us consistently in the 8. I disagree that we needed these players because I dont believe they can help us win a flag, I believe that we should have continued drafting lots of kids and trying to develop them. Thats all.

It was a considered plan due to the compromised draft with these new clubs who
Have had the cherry pick of these young kids, so perhaps this plan after all is flawed.

Every club has foot soldiers that are just that foot soldiers, they were obtained to fill
Certain holes which most commentators have commended us for, where we fall down is the development of our young draftees, which as a organisation we are terrible at.

Every team has foot soldiers that have limitations, ours just stand out due to a lack of A graders in our team.

Well said Rogerd3, we were coming from that far back that these guys were upgrades on what we had so they have contributed significantly to us improving.  We basically got these players for free so we could still keep drafting young guys with our ND picks. We will need to continue to upgrade these types to get better. We cant expect to go out and get stars each off season, need to develop our own imo

We just go to water when the pressure is on that's all simple.Make basic mistakes ,turn the ball over, and poor decsions. For me one of our biggest concerns is that our leaders and senior players dont stand up and lift the team when it has to they just go missing..

they did drop their heads in the second half, was after our two rucks went down and that ridiculous free and 50 against Newman debacle.  Kingy didn't stop giving it 100% though.
