Richmond fans keen to see the Tigers and the Gold Coast Suns in Cairns in Round 16 are being urged to buy their tickets early, with another capacity crowd expected for this year’s game.

Tickets for the match at Cazalys Stadium go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday, 8 May) at 9am.

Over 12,000 people are expected to attend the match.  Grandstand and general admission tickets can be purchased from 9am on Wednesday, 8 May 2013 from:

• Online at Ticket Direct www.ticketdirect.com.au

• By phoning 1300 798 550

• Cazalys Social Club, Mulgrave Road, Cairns

Prices start at just $22.50 for adults, $5 for kids 15 years or under or $50 for a family of four. Booking fees apply.

Fans planning to travel to Cairns for the match can also book the best available airfares, a range of affordable accommodation and match tickets by visiting the AFL’s travel site -

Just had a  look at the AFL website & their travel travel packages on offer. 

No thanks

Would cost $655.89 if I travelled on the day of the game but would miss the start of the game because the only direct Flight with Virgin gets into Cairns at 4.25pm (game starts at 4.40pm)

No direct Virgin flights home. Cheapest flight home on their web-site means you get back to Melb at 10.30pm   

if I was to travel a day earlier it would cost $718.07

Glad I booked back in Feb when QANTS flights were on special  all up including the hotel $580 

Don't think the AFL's www.anygameanywhere.com.au is a winner on the cheap & affordable stakes

I believe both daniel. Though there is only limited seating, the stands aren't that big. For memory they actually put up temporary seating for the game

Cool see you there. Im lucky wife works with an airline so flights are pretty cheap but for the other guys its so much expensive over $450 return. Not sure many will come up with those prices

Part of the problem re: flights is that it is the last weekend of Vic school holidays, so airlines charge a premium

That's why I always try and book months in advance, works out a lot cheaper.

As i said I was lucky I got in early and the flight up was very cheap, compared to what you'd pay for the some flight right now. Same with Adelaide this weekend; got flights for $150 return (QANTAS), same flights this week would set you back over $300
