What they want and what the player & his manager want can be 2 very different things

Remembering his still not 22. Player would want a shorter deal as too maximise his earning potential when he is 24-25 ie his next contract

Would think they will meet in the middle

That's absolutely where it would wp, art of negotiation though and we will get a lower avg cost with 4 year term

His manager isn't that silly he wont agree for a longer term for less money and the club wont and shouldn't over pay just lock him away for a longer term

Hence, why I reckon it wont be a long term deal (4-5 years)

5 years at 400k.

That could be the payment for his one day a week job at Linfox, the club could then negotiate a 5 year deal with him for around the same amount on top of that  :whistle
