who knows, he could of damaged any of his lateral or collateral lateral ligaments or acl with that side impact from that idiot.  It would be inflamed at the very least the meniscus would of copped a crunching on one side too when the joints rolled into each other which would at the very least cause soreness and inflammation.  Wasn't diving into a players legs the very thing they were trying to stop for this very reason...anything come out of this?  no?  didn't think so.  The rule is only used in soft ineffective situations to dole out bs free kicks.

Cotchin Injury Not Serious

Richmond are confident captain Trent Cotchin will be fit for next week's clash against Melbourne despite missing Saturday's trip to Port Adelaide to take on the Power.

Cotchin was a surprise out when teams were announced on Thursday night, but any fears of a serious knee injury were immediately allayed by the club.

The Brownlow Medal fancy actually suffered a hyperextension to his knee two weeks ago against Fremantle, but was passed fit to take on Geelong last week.

He was largely ineffective against the Cats, managing just 17 touches – well below his season average of 30.

"It was probably a bit sore last week. The medical team and Trent debated it heavily (before the Geelong match)," said Richmond general manager of football Dan Richardson.

"He didn't cause himself any more damage. Structurally, it's sound.

"We just decided it was to rest him this week, and make sure we get it right."

Trent cotchin died peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with a leg injury. He is expected back for the dreamtime match.

A shame we didn't follow that last line of good advice last week when we were playing a Geelong side we were unlikely to beat anyway (and of course didn't) so Cotch could be right to play today.
