It's that simple Spud

i know what u r thinking and no!!!!

twice exactly how knights did it, and once landing in a marking contest

if u look carefully knights foot kinda grips and gets stuck in the turf.. it hurts more than braking i leg can tell u that, kneed cap pops out and tears the patella tendon

its a bitch of an injury as the patella is very important in stabilising the knee

I don't know, I've seen that piece of footage many times, and it just doesn't make any sense how he could have done it. The injury doesn't occur to the leg that he kicks with (meaning  that there's no snapping motion), nor the leg that he lands on (meaning that there's no hyper-extension, or buckling as his weight collapses on it.) The leg in question just doesn't appear to suffer any trauma whatsoever, and yet there it is. It just looked so innocuous.

nothing to do with that

thefoot gets caught on the turf
his knee slightky just slightly tweaks and patella tracks out of alignment and u fall to ground
im bad cases like mine  and knights and remember buckenara happened to him too the tendon tears or snaps , u also get bone damage under the patella as it grinds out and dislocates

once ur patella pops out u lose all stability in ur get and u fall to ground

its a b itch

Yeah, it's just that looking at the footage, all the momentum or force seems to go through the other side of his body. I just can't see what makes the patella pop. It does make you wince when he's lying there though, and you see the detached bone protruding under the skin at the wrong angle.

to get technical , instability is cause by the Q angle of the femur at the hip joint and more powerful vastis lateralis muscles and weaker medialis muscles

so when the quad contracts it pulls harder at the lateral side than medial and the patella tracks incorrectly

this is why its very imp to have strong medialis muscles in ur quads

It's a common knee problem in athletes known loosely as 'runners knee'.

So is the surgery like a normal knee reco?

Not sure what the surgery would actually invovle, but to put the recover is perspective the most common surgery for ACL repair is they actually take part of your patella tendon and make it your new ACL and then most of the time spent recovering is repairing and strengthening through the patella tendon.

nope unless the medial miniscus is torn

its more like a patella recon rather than knee

the procedure they used to do was called the Rauw Golthwaite where they do a lateral release to weaken the vastis lateralis muscle , they also cut the patella vertically in half twist it to tighten in and screw it back in and fingers crossed it grafts ,, the screws never come out

im not sure if they do the same now but its a 9 month plus recovery  back in my day

if u call me WP i can explain it to u better , easier than typing i can leave u my number if u wish
