to me its quite simple..Port work their arses off .They run and back each other up..Our boys are lazy
Too many poorly skilled players as well running around for Coburg. Players under no pressure who can't hit open targets by foot 20m away or handball to teammates feet or to the wrong option.

Possies:

Arnot           24  ...... 17k  7h
Helbig          24 ........ 20k  4h
McDonough  18 ........  12k 6h

Dea, Darrou would also be in the top possession getters.

McBean was the most dangerous looking forward for Coburg with 3 goals.

Back line prospects - Elton, McIntosh and Darrou
Mids - McDonough, Helbig? Arnot?
Forwards - McBean, Griff?

Others on the RFC list I don't rate.

The cupboard looks pretty bare imo

The VFL site must have been watching a different game if Verrier and Elton are in their bests.

Best today for mine as far as progressing to AFL level in the upcoming years were McBean and McDonough.

Astbury - solid in defence and was good in the first half. Quieter and hardly sighted in the second half.

Arnot - from quarter time got plenty of it but he still makes too many schoolboy errors.

Helbig - had little impact despite having 24 possies as well. You wouldn't promote him to the Richmond side based on today. He would've picked up most of those disposals in the second half too as I didn't notice him too much in the first half.

Dea - his good is good but his bad is shocking and goal costing. Sadly he often combines the two standards in the one play (ie. a strong intercept defensive mark followed by a playing on to eagerly and getting himself into trouble which results in a turnover).

Big O - disappointing day. No impact.

Elton - Strong hands at times but overall had little rebound impact and was beaten by Galea.

McIntosh - ordinary and would have been lucky ot reach double figures in possies.

Darrou - tried hard all day but I still don't see him as a key defender at AFL level.

Griffiths - that crash of the back in the last qtr is what he needs to do regularly. Just doesn't do enough to play to what strengths he has.

Verrier - still a work in progress project type.

Derickx - won't be at Tigerland next year.

Simon - didn't touch the ball all day. All he did all day was chase tail. I don't see him lasting on our rookie list beyond this year either.

I don't recall any games at Coburg where it's been said he stood out. There certainly hasn't been one for Richmond where he's done anything out of the ordinary. He was a decent junior footballer who missed a a lot of time with injury. Right now it looks like he's just a poo recruit. The only reason people rate him is because he can kick 60 metres and also move well for a tall fella. Other than that he's done FA and never has. I doubt anyone would be giving it to Tigermonk if he were still posting, he's been on the money with a lot of his comments over the years

This will come across as negative but it's the truth. He may still make a good AFL footballer but we haven't seen much

Where is Butcher at?

Watched a bit of The port v Geelong game today and butcher is back in the first grade side after a long lay off.

Looks fatter than Hurley

It's coburgitis. Worse than tigeritis ever was but not as bad as demonitis.

The sooner we have our own reserves the better.

And next year will be worse.
We don't have any administration for setting up a reserves team.
When it comes to recruiting VFL players Richmond will, as usual, be so far behind that we will fill out the team with all the leftovers.
Also as usual, Richmond supporters will blame the players and coaches for poor team results rather than the administration who set it up.
