Isnt this about the time of year when we find out in the press who we have an interest in for our first rounder. I reckon Conca, Ellis and Vlastuin have been suggested as early as June by someone in the press at some stage.

Should have stopped reading at 2005. FJ in this interview said he started in 2006.  :whistle

Well that would be another lie.
He started as a part-time recruiter in 2005
He started FULL-TIME in 2006.   :whistle

By part time do you mean he was sitting in front of a tv watching videos of prospective players?

No, means he was still working full time as a teacher (Brighton Grammar - Sports Master for many years and coach of their 1st 18's) and doing some recruiting work for the club in his after hours.  Started full time with the club on April 1 2006 at the end of the first school term.  Miller was the boss boy until then.

So what your saying is he started as head recruiter in 2006? 2005 are Miller selections.

Claw, can you explain why Rance is a fail yet Eric McKenzie is not?

Not conca, that never out until draft day when he got an invite to the draft.

the closest to that cat getting out of the bag was deep throat on Big Footy saying we had a surprise selection from WA as our first pick. (in subsequent weeks he then speculated on nearly every WA player except conca  :lol)

first round picks don't have to be kept secret anyway. that knowledge isnt going to change a pick before yours.

And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Because McKenzie is a very good stopper and Rance isn't? Not that Rance is a fail. He was a decent pick IMO

Thought McKenzie was superb on whoever he played on, would have been a ten goal loss to the Eagles without his efforts  :cheers

Presumably watching videos but also looking at stuff like rep teams and selections.
Hurn - AIS, SA captain, AA, 2 X SANFL premierships
JON - WA selection.

Ooops, no maybe only watching videos and ignoring the experts who'd seen them play.
