Jack just said on the Footy Show that he wants to be a Tiger for life.

Hope you give Norf a smashing mate.

Actually keep him on, he needs to read and learn from some our poster criticisms of the RFC.

Was one of the worst attempts at a troll I have ever seen.

North wary of new Tiger Edwards (Ninemsn)

North wary of new Tiger Edwards

North Melbourne coach Brad Scott knows more than anyone how Aaron Edwards can turn an AFL match.

And he is wary of what the ex-Kangaroos forward may turn on for new club Richmond against his side at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

A mercurial player whose flashes of brilliance and big goal hauls can win games, he has also been anonymous and inconsistent in just as many others.

But he appears to have found a new level of consistency and involvement for the Tigers - with two outstanding performances against the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda in successive weeks since breaking into Richmond's side.

North Melbourne made the decision to let the 29-year-old go at the end of last season - Scott wanting to give others like emerging Aaron Black and Majak Daw a chance to develop.

But he is thrilled Edwards, who still lives with Kangaroos player Levi Greenwood and is fondly thought of at his old club, has found a niche at Richmond.

He believes Edwards has added another dimension to an already dangerous forward line.

"I'm really pleased to see him get another opportunity at AFL level - I think he deserves it," Scott said on Friday.

"But if you look at our side now - we'd have love to have kept him - but we really felt if Aaron Edwards stayed on our list, then Aaron Black would have been playing the VFL.

"Majak Daw wouldn't have had his opportunity this year. We're fortunate in terms of the number of key position forwards we've had on our list.

"It was disappointing to lose Azza, but we had to keep moving forward. I hope he doesn't hurt us."

Just like Richmond counterpart Damien Hardwick, Scott believes the two clubs have been developing similarly for several years.

But while the Tigers are comfortably floating in the top eight, North's 5-8 win-loss record has been dotted with narrow losses which could have been parlayed into a far higher ladder position.

"They've really improved and we think we've improved, without getting the results. This game will probably tell us a lot," Scott said.

Richmond will again be without ruckman Ivan Maric with a groin injury, but first-year revelation Nick Vlastuin returns from his shin problem,

Without suspended small forward Lindsay Thomas, the Kangaroos have elevated midfielder Ben Cunnington to the side.

Housemates Levi Greenwood and Aaron Edwards to fight it out when North Melbourne and Richmond do battle

    Daryl Timms
    From: Herald Sun
    July 06, 2013

FRIENDSHIP will stay at home when North Melbourne's Levi Greenwood and former teammate Aaron Edwards cross paths at Etihad Stadium.

The pair share a bayside apartment and have stuck together even after Edwards was off-loaded by the Roos to Richmond during last year's trade period.

While they split the household duties, with Greenwood nominating his mate as having superior culinary skills, their Super Coach selections dominate their footy talk as they don't discuss details of their clubs.

Edwards admitted that months ago he pencilled in the clash as a must game so he could line up against his old side, but for a while it looked as though neither he nor Greenwood were looking at gaining promotion from the VFL ranks.

Four weeks ago, Edwards got his first senior game for the Tigers, while Greenwood got back into the North side for the first time this season just two weeks ago.

"We were in the same spot at the start of the season, when we weren't getting a look in, but all of sudden it turned around," Greenwood said.

Edwards said it was a hard first half of the season.

"Luckily we didn't have a dog," Edwards joked. "It was frustrating but we both got in, and if I had one game earmarked, it would definitely be this one.

"I suppose it's just another game, but there's a more exciting element to it because you're playing against your mates. It's nothing personal but it's just an exciting game first up against your old team, the staff and coaches.

"I talked to Shaun Grigg when he played his first game against Carlton and he said it was just a bit weird and it will probably be the same for me.

"They (North) only have to play against the one person, but I have to play against the whole team."

Edwards said Greenwood had the last say in the cooking roster by preparing the same pre-game meal - spaghetti bolognese with broccoli, a serve of garlic bread and a small pack of Maltesers.

"He can get me this week if he wants," Edwards said with a laugh.

"As far as the best cook goes, I'm probably a bit more adventurous and am prepared to stuff something right up, but I've been going OK lately. You don't need a cookbook these days because you just use Google."

Greenwood and Edwards crossed paths earlier in the season in the VFL and the Roo recalled that his mate tried to take him out.

"I haven't forgot that," Greenwood said. "There will be no cheap shots and when we are out there, we are out there with all guns blazing."

Greenwood said it would be funny when they returned home after the game because one would be happy and the other sad.

Lamb shanks, cooked by Edwards, were on the menu last night but it will be Tigers and Kangaroos tomorrow.
