norf structure three talls.
« on: July 06, 2013, 05:11:33 PM »
Petrie - Aaron black - robtarrent.

Looked effective.

If we play mcbean or Griffiths we could replicate this

The everyone in the back 50 and run out is also good and worth using

Hardwick is playing his favorites. McBean should have been given a chance by now but he hasnt. McDonough is another kid who has played some nice footy at Coburg and he hasnt had a chance either.

I reckon we are short one 'swingman' to cover back or forward as the need arises. Griff or Elton should be persevered with.

We don't play that way, we prefer to possess the ball and then press from the front keeping it in our half.

yep and they shat on us today. Hardwick needs to stop playing favorites and play some kids too see if we can find 1 or 2 more players for the future.

If Elton and McBean plays well tomorrow they should be considered.

Norf play 3 talls at both ends.

Claw told you all this but he's constantly ignored.

We play 2 talls at both ends.

Going in one tall short can be covered, two and you're ****ed

Gone before the bounce  :thumbsup

ive been going on about this sort of structure for yrs. north regularly went with hansen tarrant and petrie forward last yr its nothing new. its not just up forward but down back as well, hansen firrito grima thompson  all big bodied and all 190cm plus.and most sides actually structure like this on a regular basis.
at richmond we think we can get away with just riewoldt and vickery as tall forwards and to top the stupidity off we then ask vickery to spend significant time in the ruck what the hell happens to structure when he does go there.

for us and ive said this numerous times an ideal set up with the players we have would be

morris shut down on the smalls  - chaplin if we had a bloke like frawley you would play chaplin  at chb.  - grimes third tall option he needs to get more ball than he does if hes to be a third  option
mcintosh a tall accountable running defender with good skills we dont have one we need him to develop  - rance who i think we must do better than at chb but hes the only option we have atm  - dea/batchelor. i have a lot of time for matt dea i reckon he just needs regular opportunity. jake batchelor actually playing on a bloke his own size geez.

rance chaplin grimes and mcintosh are all 190cm plus. they all move well for big men.

up forward ive regularly pushed for one of elton astbury or griffiths to play kp with jack the other kp and vickery in a pocket as the second ruckman.to be honest i still have huge concerns about vickery.
id even go as far as to play a second ruckman off the bench as long as he was very mobile and agile.

structure has been lousy all yr and we play too many who cant make a decent decision under pressure or butcher the ball under pressure.we also imo lack two big hard at it mids who can extract the ball.

to finish if people think 3 talls  back and forward an anomaly and cant work  go look at last yrs gf.
hawthorn , gunston roughead, franklin with hale regularly going down there.
sydney , actually went lrt, goodes, reid and pyke like hale regularly rested forward.
