Center Half Forward - who will hardwick pick first

Outside of Jack (natural FF) and Vickery (2nd ruck / forward pocket) who will Hardwick pick first off the block to develop as our future forward line?

As long as Vickery half arses his way through season after season, we may not get so see much game time for anyone in a traditional CHF role.

McBean should play as the third tall though.

I'm hoping Griffiths will be everything we've always hoped for.

It should be Ben Griffiths and needs to be Ben Griffiths.

McBean at Full Forward!

Jack in a pocket or at another club ...

Next year McBean will get his turn in the Forwardline but in 2 or 3 years time, I actually think it will be McBean in Vickery's role, Griffith/Elton CHF and Jack FF.  Griffiths has had a terrible time off-field which has effected his football this year so expect him to come out of the gates firing next year as a dangerous forward.  :thumbsup

Griffiths had a run of games in defense after a handful of games up forward.
He was dropped after 1 game this year and we haven't seen him since.

It's quite frustrating especially when you see the emergence of some youthful talls that the goldcoast have unearthed after giving them time to develop in the big time.

Rory Thomson 22, Sam Day 20, Tom Nicholls 21.

Sometimes a club has to just play these guys and they eventually come on or they don't ie. Angus Graham. Atleast by playing them you'll eventually know either way.

With Griffiths we still don't know if he's worth keeping but with his height, great skill by foot and a fair contested mark I've seen enough potential upside.
Its just so frustrating that he's not already locked in as our third tall and causing some serious headaches with his size a booming kicks.

I definately would like to see him tried again up forward and kept there for a reasonable time to finally make a call on him. I'm quietly confident that he'd flourish once he's given the backing of the coaching staff and once he gains some confidence he'd be a decent forward for us.
The club that keeps giving.

Although it's none of my business I'd like to know what these "off field problems" Griffiths is apparently having, or even just know if it's true or not. Then I'd know whether to cut him some slack or not

chf does not exist anymore

its all about structures high forwards and deep forwards

high fwds become mids and work up the ground , deep fwds stay closer to goal

traditional chf hff fp ff are positions of the past

we know have tall fwds usually 2 or 3 and small to medium forwards

some play as high forwards some as deep

new age footy

gotta disagree. imo jacks best position is CHF.  As a team atm we just cant afford to have him away from the goals too much. and yes hes shown himself to be a damn good ff as well.

if i was in charge of development at coburg i would set up like ths. this is based on the players best strengths as juniors. it applies only to talls.

b/ darrou - #### - ####
hb/ mcintosh  - astbury  - #### i put astbury here because i resign myself to the need to find another couple of kpds.

hf/ ####  - elton  - ####. this kid can take a grab  and he moves across the ground real well. for his size. time is on his side.
f/ mcbean - griffiths - ####. ff is griffiths natural position. mcbean we hope to develop into a ruckman  me i think his best position by far is in defense.
the trouble with this lot is we just dont know if any of them will be afl standard. 3 are very doubtful at this stage.
