Tiger71's latest post on BF tonight ...

"We have put heaps of time into Adams, close onto 2 years. As the offers started going up, ours has remained consistent with just a slight increase. The reason for that was we have tried to sell to Adams the vision of the RFC in the next 5 years. We have explained to him that he would be a integral part of that vision, and sometimes, team success is more important then just the cash. We, from what I have heard used Geelongs own argument against them. Asking Taylor if the bartels and selwoods would now have been more happier with more cash or keeping the strong core together and getting those flags.

Come Monday we will know how well we sold it. My mail has stayed consistent from the start, and I have yet to hear that we are out of the race. We will know Monday.

Our Major stumbling block is GWS. We don't have a "better" deal to offer them then say Collingwood, Melbourne or Geelong. Lets just hope his desire to play for us is real enough that he can tell GWS to go eat a tomato sandwich. "

Adams, a tough in-and-under midfielder, has half a dozen Victorian clubs interested in him, headed by Geelong and Collingwood, which is understood to have offered him $300,000 a season.

Lot of Richmond people claiming we still are, but nothing solid from the journo world suggesting we're in with a shot, however I think they're just focusing in on contract offers (ie money), and we're trying to sell him on the richmond model (ie, houli, grigg, maric, chaplin etc) & opportunity and potential success. Also remember reading he's keen on making sure GWS are properly compensated for a trade, which puts us behind the 8 ball.

Reckon you can make your mind up from there. Hearing that he may well nominate today. Fingers crossed!

Can someone link me to an official offer to Adams? Statement from RFC, Pies, or Adams management is fine, don't worry about bigfooty or a "journalist". I'd just like compare the contract offers. Thanks  :thumbsup

If that's the way trade period worked it wouldn't be half as interesting....

Set up your own media watch monitor in trade period, knock yourself out - might get a decent following
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I agree with gerks.  People are coming on here and sprouting numbers like they know it's gospel. In reality they are just regurgitating media or BF bull. Nobody knows what has been said behind closed doors. Stop pretending like you do!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

GREATER Western Sydney has launched a bold $4 million play for disgruntled Collingwood defender Heath Shaw.

After being jilted by Buddy Franklin, the Giants have zoned in on Shaw with a deal believed to be around $800,000 a season for five years.

And they have also spoken to the Pies premiership star about a development role at the club for at least two years at the end of his playing days.

A trade between the GWS and Collingwood is the most likely scenario should Shaw give it the green light as GWS hard nut Taylor Adams wants to return to Victoria.

Adams, 20, nominated the Pies and Geelong as his preferred destination but would end up at the Westpac Centre as some part of the Shaw deal.

Don't know what to make of this. Sounds baloney. Also, I don't remember Adams nominating either the Pies or Geelong??
