Brett Anderson from Inside Football reckons the Adams trade will be:

Heath Shaw to Geelong (Shaw's preference is the Cats - he doesn't want to go to GWS)
Taylor Adams to Collingwood
Pick 15 to GWS

Deals not even done yet fellas, relax  :lol
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

But the deal involves more than pick 15, involves another player in Shaw which we had no interest in

Not only that what's the point in fighting for a kid that clearly doesn't want to be at our club?

He wants to go to either Geelong or C'wood. So even if we offered GWS pick 11 for him he could still say I am not going to the Tigers, I'll try my luck in the PSD

Fight those who want to get to our club not those who want to be elsewhere

Everyone just focuses on the deals, salary cap is also a factor.

We obviously don't want to pay him what he wants to get paid.

Would we part with our 1st pick for him? Yep
Would we pay him the money he wants? Nup

There is obviously 2 factors.

This is one thing thats being ignored in the Hampson trade. Was pick 32ish high, yep. Is 250k a year cheap, yep. So people happy with the trade for hampson can argue that he is cheap and value for the cap, and those who hate the trade complain that pick 32ish was too much.

Adams might not suit us salary cap wise in the way we are building the list. He priced himself out of it for us and how we want to spend.

You have to think about both, and for some reason most of the gurus on here only worry about one factor when it suits them and the other factor when it suits them. Very rarely both together depending on the argument they want to use.

Cats and pies, 2 clubs that have been significantly better than us in recent times offer this kid significantly more than we do and that doesnt sound off alarm bells? Of course the kid will go elsewhere if hes offered 100k+ more. Think our footy depart have erred with their ratings system with Adams. Just hope we're not sitting here in 2 years when Adams is taking the league by storm lamenting the fact we didnt go harder at him.

Couldnt agree more.  Adams' price is too high for us.

Agree Gerks, there has to be more to this deal than a merry go round of players and picks.
The rumor was our pick 11 was on offer to GWS, there not going to knock back that for pick 15.
