Greg Denham (The Australian) reporting that Reece Conca and Shaun Grigg are close to re-signing

A three-year contract extension for Jack Riewoldt last week will shortly be followed by the re-signing of midfielders Reece Conca and Shaun Grigg, whose deals expire at the end of the season.

Riewoldt turned his back on lucrative offers from Brisbane and Fremantle to stay with the Tigers on a deal that lasts until the end of 2016 worth about $1.9 million.

Gold Coast and Melbourne also expressed interest in attracting the key forward away from Punt Road.

Richmond's next priority will be to secure the soon-to-be out-of-contract Dustin Martin on a new deal.

Grigg just seems like a greedy winge bag to me, always angry when he doesn't get the easy handball on the outside, but never gives it off himself.

Loosing Conca would be horrendous.. great attitude, finds his own ball and heaps of development left in him.

Perfect world we would definitely sign Conca/give grigg a one year deal but make him earn his spot in the seconds, sign Adams from GWS to really solidify our midfield. Concs and Adams on the wings would be splendid!!!

Apparently if Grigg dishes off or receives the ball from Deledio more than 5 times in a game he forgoes his match payments. Furthermore if he kicks more helicopters than drop punts he forgoes his match payments. Added to that if he runs to ball and takes it away from a right footed teammate who was better suited to the play thus being forced to do a 360 stop and prop and then dish off poorly to a teammate putting him under pressure and killing the play he forgoes his match payments.
