What have you liked this year?
« on: August 06, 2013, 07:57:21 PM »
For me,
Back line 3rd lowest points against
Dusty after the pre season BS
Our depth playing a role this year, at various times Arnott, McG, A Edwards etc have chipped in

Jack delivering on goal kicking and bringing his team mates into the game. When on his game he brings others into it with his football nous

haha

Watching us morph into a professional unit on and off field. I honestly think we played a more exciting brand of footy last year but we're a lot more clinical this season. Against weaker sides we look like the good sides used to look like against us.  Just too well drilled, quick and fit for them to handle. Brain snaps are fewer and farther between, we are starting to play to a system like its second nature to us, whereas in the past you could almost see the players thinking too much out there and making dumb decisions.

The fact we'll be playing finals - stuff yeah!

I've liked people like Rance and Jackson, and maybe even Matt White, proving my confidence in them wasn't misplaced.

Foley playing again.

Martin looking matured and fit as a fiddle.

Chaplin, awesome pickup.

Vlastuin kicking ass. Conca solid. Ellis IMO the most solid of all three, excellent skills and toughness.

And the madness of knowing those three add ridiculous midfield depth and longevity to the likes of Lids, Martin, Cotchin, Jackson, Foley and Tuck.

Hopefully Martin and Conca resign. Tuck gets another year because he still looks in great knick :)

Every week now I see the possibility of victory.

We have come such a long way since rd 1 2010.

The football world respects the Richmond Football Club again.

We are going to be the " poster child" on how to successfully rebuild your football team.

Fair enough , personally I was getting sick of Richmond being Footballs " joke of the week" ( joke of the decade)
Now the same commentators who have been patronising us for years are in a mad rush to jump on the bandwagon .

Actually agree with (•))(©™, I dont' care if the rest of the competition respects us or not. To me it's important that we the members & supporters respect the RFC. Reckon that is happening after years of frustration & disappointment

Again personal view, I don't think the footy world respects us again well not yet anyway. Think that's a fair way off and I really don't care

IMV those commentators "who have been patronising us for years" are sitting in wait for our next loss against a team that in their view we shouldn't lose to; to get stuck into us again. As I said who really cares
"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

This has been half the fun this year  ;D

We have had some let downs - Bombers, Pies, Cats and that amonination against the Roos but each loss we have bounced back with super wins against Port, WCE and the Hawks - all ironically by 41 points.
Even that Collingwood loss we bounced back and nearly beat the Dockers over there.

I personally dont mind any poster coming into this forum every week and being bi polar when that is what the team dishes up. That is all part of it.
What I can't  handle are the hangranades thrown after every loss followed by silence after every win.

Reality is, good has far outweighed the bad this year  ;D

Going on in this vein I have enjoyed the lesser volume of idiotic feral posters this year, I know we still have some but just like all footy sides need a couple poorly skilled players for scapegoats I think OER needs a few feral posters to make the rest of us look good.
