Hardwick on SEN - Thurs Aug 15
« on: August 15, 2013, 03:03:01 PM »
Dimma was on KB's show this morning ...

* Believes Dusty and Conca's new deals aren't far away. Just the finishing touches to go.

* Recruiting - while we will always go after youth (via the draft), we also believe there's players in the competition who are undervalued and that we will consider bringing to the club.

* While we allow us to spend a moment enjoying the fact we've made the finals for the first time in 12 years, we want playing finals every year to be the expectation from the club going forward.

* On Jack Riewoldt - everyone loves goals, I’m no different.  But I also love a player that makes those around him better and I think Jack has improved enormously in that area. Last week, he kicked 1.4, but he had four direct goal assists as well.  So realistically it could have been an eight-goal game. We are really pleased with him. His leadership has improved around the Club, players enjoy playing with him a lot more because his teamwork, and those sort of areas of his game, have improved. Jack’s just going to become a better player. He’s only 24 years of age, which is quite scary. He’s not even at his peak yet.

We don't deserve it.

That's right, petals.

Point 3 and point 2 are one and the same.

As for Jack, we should all be quite happy with his selflessness in both contractual negotiation and on field maturity.Having said that, he really needs to work on his speed over the first 25m metres.
Make it a priority.

There is always undervalued players elsewhere and they are there every year. Jesse White has only played 3 or 4 decent games but anyway. Not the be all and end all.

From a few Sydney mates of mine. "Jesse White is the biggest potato to ever play AFL, thanks to Hardwick for playing Petterd on him so now someone will trade for him and we can get rid of him before people realise he's stuffing poo"  :whistle

Jessie White has Muppet hands. For such a tall imposing body, he just can't take a decent contested mark. Take a look at the Swans game last week, he was one of the biggest factors that contributed to their loss. Every time the Swans put it to him, he dropped it and the Collingwood backs swooped and the rest is History.

He is a Chernobyl Icy Pole! Avoid at all costs!!  :chuck

doesn't the bible say something about blowing your own trumpet, or is that only other blokes trumpets.........?
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

:lol

Too late to get Jesse now. He would've been a cheap option last year and would've been a good pick up.
