Richmond didn't lose and Carlton didn't beat us

There is one thing that you are all forgetting, and that is MICK MALTHOUSE.
We didn't lose the game and the players didn't win it, well not alone anyway. Mick simply out witted Dimma.
Malthouse is an extremely good coach, been doing it for many many SUCCESSFUL years.

Mick would have done a massive amount of research on how to beat us, how to take out the factors that would give us the win.

Don't think for a moment that Cotchin or Dusty had a bad game, Mick's plan of attack worked and Dimma would not have seen it coming.

A serve at quarter time from Mick to his blues was not what won the match, (Mick always looks as though he's blasting anybody when he talks).

Game plans were not fully implemented in the first stanza from Mick's boys, but the quarter time huddle would have made sure that the orders from the boss were carried out.

Once the second quarter started, there was a difference and it wasn't about getting a win on the board for the blues, it was about meticulously following a plan and sticking to it.

Mick is a master coach and as I said, simply out witted Dimma, who in terms of coaching experience compared to Mick, is young and naive with so much more to learn.

If you want to blast the Tigers and call them crap, chokers or whatever, go ahead, but first understand the game fully before you blast your own club.

I really don't even understand the title to be honest. It Sounds like an excuse.
Facts are facts.
1) are we a better team? Yes.
2) did our heads swell after 1st qtr? Yes.
3) did we work hard enough after qtr time?  No
4) did we play like a finals team? No
5) did we play as though we hate Carlscum? No.
6) did we miss the best opportunity presented to thank all our supporters and the footy world to nail a finals berth shut completely out of reach for the most arrogant cheating tanking club in the league? YES!

Mick is a masterful coach that's why he had trouble to get his boys over the line last week against footscray.
I personally am angry because if we were in the same position as them they would've smashed us and given their supporters more to taunt us with.
We had an opportunity to finish them off and we didn't. Worst of all we had them almost beaten by quarter time and still let them win.
It's totally unacceptable!
Last years loss to them as terrible as it was to lose when they had so many players missing this loss was worse.  We had 'em right where we wanted them perfectly poised for a super smashing & ending their hope of playing finals footy.
The worst of it is that because of us they'll probably play finals now. And now I've got those arrogant pricks thanking me for letting them play finals.  :banghead

It was a terrible day all round and has left me very very very disappointed, annoyed and angry.
How sweet the revenge would've been? How good it could've been to prove that round 1 was no mistake? How good the feeling should've been to end their finals hopes?

Why? Why? Why?
The club that keeps giving.

Whilst its okay to hate Carlton most self respecting Richmond supporters do why worry about them.
Let's worry about what we are doing rather than worrying about them and their deranged supporter group. Yep I hate them and the result yesterday stung but we do have bigger fish to fry and maybe that has been the problem with RFC over the last 30 years by putting relevance on something on a hatred and rivalry that we owned 40 odd years ago rather than expressing a desire to create a new history.

We ended their season in 2001 and if we play them in the first week of the finals guess what we'll beat them again. Get over this boys and don't let it choke you otherwise I may be hearing the same 1982-2012 crap I have been hearing which yes I have been guilty of also over time.

Let it go boys for us and for the footy club we WILL be better for it. :thumbsup

Are you ignoring the fact we had a tough training session in the morning because we have bigger fish to fry than the scum?

The title means it was a game of a coach beating another coach.
Yeah you're right we are better and just I am just as frustrated as the everybody else.

But the tactics used used in this game and the game plan itself was very similar to round one, and Mick knew it.
Old coach versus new coach.
Old coach won.

This loss, I hope will be one that the Dimma will look at and discuss what went wrong and if there's one thing I know about coaches, they will never let the public know what they know.

We beat hawthorn, simply because Dimma knows how the hawks play, very predictable.
Predictability did not work against carlton.

YES the Tigers need to get better, but don't fear they will and we will do well in the finals.

strange thing to match day. what do you think the logic behind that is?

Cotchin was jovial in his interview with Watson pre game, almost over confident.
It seemed to be conducive to a great first quarter.
A shame there are 4...

Only watched part of the replay this arvo and I have to say I was genuinely surprised by Cotch's "mood" in that interview.

Usually players are intense, no nonsense, it just seemed strange that he was so relaxed he could joke around like he did. Not saying it was right or wrong it was just strange

1) are we a better team? Yes.

where is the evidence that suggests this. one narrow win in 10 attempts says otherwise.
