Wouldn't mind Polec but not worth anything if his quitting to go home

Supposedly that is the case. Saying he is lock to get to Port Adelaide

Maric was interviewed and said he thinks that Orren will still be at Richmond next season and that the club needs a young developing ruck to work under himself and Big O. Maybe hinting that we should/could be looking at Longer?

The same poster on BF with the Adams info (Tiger71) says we are out of the race for Longer. We'll see if he is right or not.

again for me the question is what can we offer up to get longer. and for that matter adams.
billy longer is a top 10 pick.  just two yrs into his career. is a great size  and has shown plenty as a pure ruckman. he really looks the goods.
adams well hes a beauty big bodied tough good skills and smart. these type of mids win premierships when the going gets tough.

one thing for sure if conca and martin are keepers we have no uncontracted players of decent value to offer for either.

that means we must offer up a contracted player or players who are  willing to go.

ive gone thru several variations on scenarios but one thing is clear to get quality you have to offer up quality. or in our case percieved quality.

for me one who has some value ATM and is expendable because we have a similar type is vickery.
yep mi know whats going to be said here we go again.

personally id trade vickey in any number of scenarios,   one scenario is vickery to gws for taylor adams.  it would be a steal.
id then offer up brisbane our first rounder for longer.

my thinking is we have mcbean who can take vickerys spot and in all honesty he already looks a better player. gws are chasing ruckmen and ruck forwards who can offer something now its a win win.
pick 11 or 12 for longer this draft geez we will be lucky to find a better player.  again brisbane get a damn good pick for a player who is going to go regardless they make the most out of a bad situation and its a win win again.

two serious list needs addressed with little loss imo certainly no long term loss.

i would then be looking to find a way to get back into say a top 30 top 25 pick in the nd. not sure how. with adams longer and say picks 25 28 and 46 we hwould have the means to address a lot of list needs with quality kids and decent picks.

at the end of the day you have to give up something decent to get something decent.

Dude he only wants $350k I don't think he's asking for too much lol. Doesn't seem greedy to me at all and he apparently wants to stay.

Vickery for Adams might be worth a shot IF McBean is ready to rock in 2014.

As for Longer I don't agree with giving up our first pick for just a bloke who's not getting a game. Maybe ask for a second round pick from Bris to come with him. That sounds more fair IMO.

Claw, in your opinion is Adams worth pick 11 this year?
I love Adams, he's set to become an absolute Gun the same mould as Hodge. I'm not sure if GWS would want it over experienced players but I'de be putting our first rounder up for him for sure.

I doubt they'll take pick 11 for Adams. Looks a great player. They've invested 2-3 years in him already. Unless the top 15 are awesome picks this year, which apparently they aren't, it would just be a step back for them.

Cameron said next year is all about respect for them and losing the 'easy beats' tag. This they'll want mature bodies IE Vickery.

Brisbane on the other hand is losing all its early picked players. With a youngish team already they'll probably be more likely to take a pick for Longer.

I agree, I don't see them wanting it either, but bundled with some steak knives like a White or bachelor, Astbury Griffiths ect could see a deal happen. Ultimately they would be looking to on trade the pick for another mature ager but it may just well help them get something else across the line....

Agree re: Lions and Longer. I can't remember if I read or it was mentioned on 360 or something, but I'm sure I heard that GWS won't value picks as much since they've already got enough snot noses they're trying to develop. Rather they want to trade their surplus to get more talented mature bodies on the field. So our first pick would probably be worth a lot more to the Lions with so many of their high picks possibly on the move than to the Giants.

more likely scenario with GWS and adams would be our first pick going to a third party and a player from them then being ontraded to GWS.

Can essondon trade into the early rounds of the draft?
