My team is similar to Stripes with a couple of changes
FB - Griffith Rance Houli
HB - Morris Chaplin Grimes
C - Deledio Jackson Ellis
HF - Knights Reiwoldt Martin
FF - Hampson Vickery S. Edwards
Foll - Maric Cotchin Conca
Int - Foley, Vlastuin, Grigg Sub - Arnot
The holes are still there at Back Pocket, CHF, HFF and possibly Ruck.
The Back Pocket is interesting since I see it as an ultra-tall third back in reality minding the resting ruck (Hale, Vardy, Pike, Witt, Kreuzer, Ryder etc).
In that case we should be looking at someone of Griffith's size to compete, while he also has agility and a booming kick.
Grimes is not tall enough and I prefer him as the tall HBF who can play on smalls effectively. This releases Vlastuin to play in the on-ball rotations.
If Griffith is not capable there is an obvious alternative that everyone is overlooking and that is McBean.
While everyone is salivating over him as the only young tall we have who can regularly kick goals, he was drafted from juniors as a KPD/ruck.
He actually played a very good game against WA as CHB as noted by Jackson when we drafted him
At CHF we have no obvious choices since Jack is a dual Coleman winning FF and should play there IMO.
The only real reason to play Jack at CHF and Vickery at FF is really only a lack of alternatives and presumes that Maric and Hampson will both play ruck.
If Maric is as badly injured as I suspect then Hampson will be first ruck and Vickery will play the same Forward/ruck as usual.
This means that probably Elton or Griffith must play CHF and this is still a BIG stretch.
Jackson as the reigning Dyer medallist should be given due credit and played in the guts with Martin as the change off HFF.
If Knights comes back and plays as well as we expect then this removes King who IMO is past it as a starting small forward anyway.
Grigg will be in the on-ball rotations unless Hardwick has a major change of heart and this forces out Newman who I can't see as a member of the midfield rotations off the bench.
