Votes Round 12, 2005 - RFC vs North
« on: June 12, 2005, 05:13:12 PM »
Tough one finding good players are 10 minutes into the 3rd quarter  :P

3. Johnson
2. Tuck
1. Krakouer

Pettifer and Cogs were reasonable although like most of the team went missing in that 3rd quarter. Newman tried hard.

3 - Tuck - We were useless in the middle when he went off
2 - Johnson - Got a heap of it and used it well (but not too much contested ball wins)
1 - Coughlan - Stock standard Coughlan game. Very good.

May I cast my votes?

3. Tuck
2. Deledio- classsssssss
1. Newman

Coggers was very gutsy today but IMO his disposal was lacklustre.
Even though our midfield got smacked badly in the 3rd quarter they were all good.

3 - Chaffey yep you're reading right folks ;) his attack on the footy was first class and h ;) did something alot of others stuggled with - he picked up an opponent all day. Granted his opponent may have run off him at times but at least he stuck to the game plan

2 - Johnson

1 - Tuck.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the Golden Turnup so many contenders ;D The nominees are:

Ray Hall - 3rd quarter against Jones on the 50 metre arc - they got a goal, I winced the bloke behind me yelled more obscenities than I've heard in years. What was that exactly

Chris Newman - I know some people reckoned he played OK - not this little black duck  >:( He gets a nomination for his handball straight to a North Bloke in the third (cost us a goal in that wonderful 10 minutes of crap), not the handballs that missed the targets in the first, second or fourth :help

Greg Tivendale: pick a lowlight any lowlight. Trying to play on in the second? Nah not for mine. Then what about that run through the centre in the third Richo leads and what happens  ??? :help A handball to a stationery Knobel and to make matters worse it doesn't even hit Knobel it bounces in front of him :banghead :banghead

And the winner is..........................

Eagerly awaits WP's golden Tivendale award :help

Got it in one :rollin :rollin

Well done Tivva

You’re entitled to your opinion, as is everyone WP.  No question.  :thumbsup  I’m gonna pull out a ‘right of reply’ card, if that’s ok. ;)  And this other little black duck was ready for someone to knock him.  Fair enough, can understand why you would.  I saw the mistakes too.  But which player didn’t make any mistakes?  Mistakes aside, I thought he did as much as anyone to try and win the game and even kicked two goals himself.  Not a bad effort for a defender, especially when we only kicked 10 for the entire game.

Great attack on the footy too and got crunched by Archer for his efforts at one stage and got straight up.  No way could anyone question his commitment to the cause and I thought Newman was one of the few players who actually came to play.  Was even prepared to give him two votes.  He can hold his head high in my opinion. :thumbsup

No probs TS - it's all about opinions :thumbsup

I never question his commitment and you make a valid point about the errors and mistakes there were plenty - he wasn't alone there. But and this is the thing for me at least it is his decision making at times that is costly and in the first quarter it cost us a lot - I'd go as far as to say it cost us at least 2 of North's goals in the 1st quarter (not the one Harris got when he collided with Archer but the 2 before that).

 :thumbsup
