Before he got injured they threw him into the deep end with sharks
He has just started to show some real potential and is a quality person
I would hope they wouldn't let him go at all and if we do not without very good compensation

By the way Leppa was his coach !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND big bloke take time to develop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the go with Matt Dea? Out of contract and hasn't re-signed?
Dea is out of contract. No mention yet of him re-signing.

Jack (as in Jackstar is back again x 8) said after the B&F that Dea had re-signed

Interestingly both he and Astbury were on that Rio trip
WP, did our Jack say how long Dea re-signed for?

North Melbourne could make a late play for GWS defender, Tom Bugg according to reports.

Paul Connors has told trade radio that if the Bombers don't quickly deal with the Bulldogs, Crameri will walk to the preseason draft.

There is a RUMOUR doing the rounds on social media, that Andrjes Everitt has engaged in talks with Carlton today.

https://www.facebook.com/AFLSeasonAndOffSeasonNews

** RUMOUR ** Melbourne are attempting to lure Josh Kennedy from the Swans for Pick 9 and some sweeteners.

Collingwood recruiting manager Derek Hine is confident on acquiring both Pat Karnezis and Tony Armstrong

https://www.facebook.com/TheZanottiFiles
Seems Melbourne want one of our players in the draft this would be brilliant for us.

And of course Hine is confident. No one else really wants those 2 because they are poo. Is Armstrong the least talented indigenous player to make the AFL?

tigs mentioned this in another thread but I'll post what C4[2]Yo`DooR on BF has said so far:

Been told the Tigers are meeting with GWS this morning - wonder if a late deal could be in the works?

Sorry gang - got it wrong.

Meeting with the Gold Coast re: Pick Upgrade (my guess is going after 27?)

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/trade-discussions-iii.1037848/page-31#post-30720385

Would have to be something decent to upgrade from #50 to #27.

Hampson is from the Gold Coast isn't he? lol :p

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/trade-discussions-iii.1037848/page-31#post-30720436

Pick #27 is only my guess,

But I can't see any other decent upgrades? (unless the Tigers were after Pick #43) ... maybe its part of a bigger deal?! I'll keep you posted.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/trade-discussions-iii.1037848/page-31#post-30720534

I have a sneaky sneaky feeling (just putting the dots together):

First he tells me that Richmond are meeting with GWS, THEN, says Richmond are meeting with GC for a "pick upgrade".

Pick #12 + #27 for Shiel?

Perhaps we're trying to get one of the 2nd round picks floating around in the Polec trade talks?

The trade has complicated Port Adelaide's efforts to secure Brisbane midfielder Jared Polec, with the Power tied in to a proposed club deal that collapsed on Tuesday night before talks resumed on Wednesday morning.

Under that deal, the Giants would have swapped picks 21 and 22 for Port Adelaide's 14, with the Power moving one of those selections on to the Lions for Polec.

Port Adelaide is looking at other options to satisfy Brisbane, which has all but finalised deals sending Elliot Yeo to West Coast and Sam Docherty to Carlton. The Lions want picks 25 and 41 from St Kilda for ruckman Billy Longer, but the Saints are only willing to move 25.

One Power option is to send pick 14 to the Gold Coast in exchange for the Suns' picks 20 and 27, a swap the clubs have discussed.

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/shaw-sweetener-secures-pies-swap-20131023-2w12r.html

Okay starting with the picks everyone has now (assuming Brisbane gain pick 28 for Yeo and pick 33 for Docherty):

Richmond:  12, 50
Port Adel:  14, 34
Brisbane:   7, 28, 29, 33, 45
Gold Coast: 5, 20, 27, 43
GWS:         1, 2, 21, 22, 48

We swap picks 12 & 50 for the Suns' picks 20, 27 & 43 (or the Giants' picks 21, 22 & 48)

Then we pass on those 3 picks for Port's picks 14, 34 (Port ontrades one of these picks we give them for Brisbane's Polec)

We convince Brisbane to do a goodwill trade for McGuane for what will be at best their sixth draft pick (45). It could be at worst their seventh/eighth pick if they trade Longer for St Kilda's pick 25 (+41) so presumably they won't be using it anyway.

That would then leave us with picks 14, 34, 45.

Richmond:  14, 34, 45
Port Adel:  20, 43, Polec
Brisbane:   7, 25, 27, 28, 29, 33, 41?, McGuane ..... (lose Polec, Longer, Yeo, Docherty)
Gold Coast: 5, 12, 50
or

Richmond:  14, 34, 45
Port Adel:  20, 43, Polec
Brisbane:   7, 22, 25, 28, 29, 33, 41?, McGuane ..... (lose Polec, Longer, Yeo, Docherty)
GWS:         1, 2, 12, 50

Thoughts?

Deal seems too straightforward to work, there are not enough clubs involved.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Pick 32 and Astbury might have landed Longer
Why would we want longer mate we have picked up Hampson there would be no use in doing that.. Astbury keep him for the year and see how it turns out there are worse players still on the list then him that we could try and off load..

Thanks for your sarcasm .

I didn't think it was too far-fetched given it's based on what is being reported in the media (regarding the Polec trade talk) plus C4[2]Yo'DooR's rumour (who's not one to make up stuff).

Not sure if it counts as an "official" source - but Stewart Crameri's sister has said on Facebook that a deal has been done between the Dons and Dogs. Take that with a grain of salt until official confirmation.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Rob Waters is reporting that Collingwood and Brisbane are set to straight swap Jackson Paine for Patrick Karnezis.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Ardrian Dodoro: “He’ll come the list as a delisted free agent on Nov 1 and we’re looking forward to getting Paul Chapman on the list next season.”

- Trade Radio

----------------------------------------------------------------

Brisbane - a few rumours suggesting Jackson Paine is up in Brisbane and that the lions could nab David Astbury from the Tigers. McGuane will be picked up as a delisted free agent.

Richmond - May be trading Davis Astbury but that also seems unlikely to happen.

Could nab Astbury

Followed by unlikely to be traded.

Well Einstein's how else does he leave? He's bloody contracted and we will bend them over or keep old Davis.  :clapping

Which they could have accepted 3 weeks ago and then had plenty of time to work out another trade  :wallywink.

Not sure why they would trade Astbury when he went on trip to Brazil
