I've been following the Taylor Petrenko saga very closely, and like most people, I was blindsided by the last minute revelation that Taylor had no escape clause in his contract. Indeed it was an oversight by his management! I'm no legal expert but Taylor Petrenko should be suing his management for loss of earnings. This was a big miss for our marketing dept too. I for one would have been first in line for a Taylor Petrenko or Jim Boogie guernsey.

I have just had this cleared up, not just from my source, but the son of the source, whom I just met. Son of source is best mates in the world with Petrenko, Conti and Le Cras. 

Petrenko was really looking forward to coming to Richmond, but he'll play out his 1 year of contract at Norf and then go and play in the NRL.

Had a very proud family member of Tom Boyd come in to work yesterday. Apparently us and Hawthorn had a serious crack at getting him/first pick. Seem to make out that Hawthorn was a real possibility at one stage.

Nice to know that we were at least trying to make something like that happen. I could only assume it was during the Dusty saga...
