So early on, it sounds as though Melbourne, Carlton and GWS are the teams right into him.

Pick 2 for starters from Melbourne

Carlton, Pick 12 and they trade Yarran and hand that pick over as well.

GWS - Pick 1 would be nice, but maybe Adams and 10.

I didn't mean we get Yarran, the Blues trade Yarran (hopefully for a top ten pick) and then on-trade that and 12 to us.

ie.
Martin to Carlton
Pick 12 and Pick 6 to Richmond
And you may not think I care for you

Need to chase a power forward.

Somebody like Josh Kennedy, Taylor Walker, Tom Hawkins etc.

And a quality small forward like Steve Motlop.

if Mrakov's rumour about Adidas is right they might need it to pay KooGa for breaking a contract  :rollin :rollin

I doubt Carlton would get a pick 6 for Yarran but I agree with the sum total of your 2 draft picks wayno ie Pick 6 and Pick 12.
If we take 2 draft picks for Dusty, the base opening point of negotiations for mine is that the sum total of them should not be more than 17 or 18 ie Collingwood's picks 10 and 11 will be close but not close enough.
Picks 1 and 2 on their own you would take as well and I think they are achievable and if Dusty wants the extra $ he has to go to GWS imv.
If Melbourne offer Pick 2 then GWS may well offer the big one, there won't be much better than this on the table for them this year,  and they said they would use the pick and they can afford him. I would go even further and see if we can upgrade our first pick seeing as though gws are having a firesale on their picks.

Trouble with GWS is that they don't have to offer anything, no trade, no nothing.  If Dusty is going then we really really need him to go elsewhere than GWS.

I agree Smokey but if Dees want him then GWS would need to better that and pick 1 will become the offer

It won't matter what the Dees offer us, it will all come down to where Martin wants to go - if it's Melbourne then we can play hardball at the trade table, if it's GWS then we'll get nothing.  We need Melbourne to really open their purse and offer him an obscene amount that GWS aren't prepared to match.

they don't have to, but they most probably will.  they stated they want to trade pick 1 for a player so if now that a player is available they then screw the players club it will come back to bite them in future negotiations, and they have a precent with us of being more than fair.

my guess is what they offer will be pretty much a starting and finishing point. It may favor them but wont be a total arse rape.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Martin to GWS for Pick 1
Pick 1 to Richmond
Richmond trade Pick 1 and Pick 12 for Pat Dangerfield and a 2nd rounder.

Would happily give up Dustin and Pick 12 for Dangerfield.

Cotchin, Deledio, Dangerfield, Vlastiun, Conca and Ellis = is a premiership midfield.

Adelaide are stuffed and need to rebuild, they can't with no 1st and 2nd round picks. They will trade Dangerfield for a future (Pick 1 and 12)

Get it done Tigers.

To be honest I don't think Dangerfield would want to leave.
IMO we need to do what we can to get Taylor Adams across. The kid is going to be a gun in the same mould as Selwood and he has show plenty in his 31 games so far! He averages over 20 possessions and nealy 4 tackles a game and his stats in these early days crap all over Dangerfields ( Dangerfield averaged 6, 13 and 15 in his first 3 years) Long term this is the kind of kid we need.
If we can get him to the club you'll be asking yourself "who is Dustin Martin" in two years time ;D
