Aggressive Enough???
« on: October 07, 2013, 09:00:36 AM »
So are we aggressive enough during FA and trade week?? What do we need to do? Do we need to be aggressive or just top up the list??

Personally I think we have done enough with what we have to offer.
Unfortunately we still don't have enough tradable commodities to be ultra aggressive.
It's always a worry when you hear X club has been in the ear of X player but none of those players ever seem to be from us ::)
At the end of the day we don't really know who's been shopped around and which of our players  other teams are enquiring about but I'm confident if the right deal came up we would move on it.

Agree, a prime example of that was when we traded old mate (cant remember his name) to the Blues for WP's mate Grigg. While I knew we were getting Grigg I had no idea old mate was the trade bait.

That was Collins, and as it turned out it was a slight win for us but Grigg is still one of our worst 22. I would be very confident if another club wanted him bad enough we wouldn't hesitate to pull the pin.

Collins, thats right, yes it has been a win for us. I think Grigg will improve next year.

Hard to be aggressive when the blokes that have the most value are the ones we can't afford to lose

Can see other Clubs asking about Ellis, Rance, Grimes, but don't think we are in a position to trade them

The obvious one's you would trade are the ones no one would ask about and/or we wouldn't even think about trading eg Grigg

I reckon this sums it perfectly

Good points WP, we have been in the same boat for years now, hopefully next year we may be in a better position to have a real crack at a top line player. Dependent on our needs of course.

Perhaps we are flying low and have some el primos we will come up with out of no where and like the Phoenix RISE FROM THE ASHES so the MIGHTY TIGERS WILL WIN THE 2014 FLAG....sorry haven't even had a drink today.!!!!
Hopefully we have things cooking, maybe we can't be as aggressive, maybe smarter, I think we are doing pretty well and am sure the power sthat be have it all sorted going on their form from the past 2 years.
