Greg Swann on SEN about an hour or so ago confirmed Richmond aren't playing Carlton in round 1 next year due to the MCG not being available. Probably will be the following Thursday night at the start of round 2.

Thanks froars  :cheers.

Dwayne Russell on 3AW just said Collingwood will open next season as the away team at Etihad. They initially said they heard North would be the home team but then later on Russell  said Geelong.

Confirmed that North will play Essendon on Friday 21st March (2nd week of the split round)

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/2014-fixture-any-news-or-leaks.1037733/page-4#post-30679460

So we've got for Round 1

Geelong?    vs Collingwood @ Etihad ......... [unconfirmed 3aw rumour]
North Melb. vs Essendon   @ Etihad ......... March 21 [confirmed]
GWS Giants vs Sydney     @ Skoda ......... Daily Telegraph

So we won't be playing these six teams nor Carlton in round 1.

Round 2 against Carlton will be our home game so presumably we'll be playing away in round 1. Hopefully not interstate  :-\.

Hopefully St.Kilda first up so we can bend them over and be top of the ladder.  :clapping

If it's a Melbourne-based club you would think St Kilda. With the MCG being unavailable for round 1, we won't be playing any MCG co-tenants so that excludeds Melbourne and Hawthorn as well.

We might get an easy kill interstate as our round 1 game - played interstate
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
