Essendon - Steven Adler
Jan 22 1965
Los Angeles, California/Guns 'n Roses

A very experienced drug user, we think he'll slot into the side nicely. He will be great asset to the kids, especially his injecting techniques. We're thrilled he slipped to pick 55.

Pick 55 - Essendon
Ben Kearns - Gippsland Power

we like some of the qualities ben has, he'll be a handy half forward.

56. Hawks - Jarred Jansen (WA – Mid)

East Fremantle
188cm 91kg
Player Comparison: Brad Sewell
Very strong inside midfielder who can rack up the ball. Excellent clearance player and has the core strength to bust tackles. Best case scenario he could be an excellent inside midfielder at AFL level, but athletically he isn’t good enough to be considered for a top 30 selection. Jansen presents value and he’ll slot perfectly into Sewell’s spot.

Pick 57 - Melbourne

Jake Kolodjashnij (Launceston)

Position: Key Defender

Age: 18
Ht: 192cm
Wt: 90kg

Tall defender with good athleticism and football smarts. Reads the play well and comes off his opponent at the right times to win the ball back in the air. An effective rebounding player who is a strong overhead mark and possesses neat foot skills.

pick 58 geez theres three still there that i like a lot
tossed the coin between james sicily and ben sokal but went with sicily.
bens  a 183cm 87kg forward mid.  a really strong marking and super strong hard at it player whos very good one on one.im pretty confident someone will pick this kid up come draft day. hes hardly rated a mention but hes exactly the type i tend to look at most.

like a kid in a candy shop the one i will take here is james sicily.  at 186cm only 77kg but will fill out so will be a real good size. .  real good speed kicks goals, good skills good grab, a little outside runs to the right spots and runs both ways.  hes a gem just waiting to be taken.
still i wish i had one more pick.

Selection #66 Richmond

Matthew Sully

Position: Tall defender
Height: 196cm
Weight: 95kg
Born: 15/10/92
Home club: Geelong

Big strong shutdown defender who is rarely beaten 1 on 1. Made the VFL team of the year in the pocket. We feel Matthew fills a hole in our list for a big strong shutdown defender that can then help release Chaplin and Rance a little bit to play their more natural games.

That brings richmonds draft participation to a close. Whilst we are happy with who weve landed, we would have loved one more pick. Cant believe James Tsitas is still available and would snap him up in a second with the pick we wasted I mean used on Pettard.

agree real good mature type.  hes exactly the type of defender richmond shoul;d be looking at. i liked laidler as well as a mature defender not sure how he ended up at sydney.
guys like ben ross chris cain  mitch thorpe  david  matt fuller and others  all deserve a chance and they all come cheap with lateish nd picks rookie picks or psd. yep im still pushing the state league barrow hard.
