So now the media reports he was a consistent midfielder in 2013 - could've sworn all I read week in week out ad nauseam was how inconsistent Martin was, and that his 2nd half fadeouts were a concern.

The Sub will remain as far as I know, wayne. The sub is there so a team is not disadvantaged, in theory at least, if a player goes down with an injury.
