Big O must be a massive chance now the Ivan is out for a while.
I said it in another thread late last year but IMO on form leading into finals, Big O's ruckwork was better than Ivan's. I think given the chance Big O can do the job  for us for the first half of the year. He is underrated as a tap ruckman.

If Ivan is placed on the LTI, the Big O can be elevated along with two others.
And you may not think I care for you

While both Miles and Thomas would be in front on form alone out of all our rookies, I can't see the Club promoting both of them given as inside mids they play the same role. I'll reckon will promote the Big O, with Ivan out for a while especially if he has surgery, along with Miles.
hang on a minute what other inside mids do we have.  foley? and cotch who does both.
thomas is every chance as he looks like a big bodied replacement for tuck. how important was he to us. im no fan of thomas but i can see why we would take him.
miles to me looks more than  capable of  performing inside and out atm id play him instead of a fair few favorites of which names wont be mentioned for fear of bun fights.

Richmond's rookie race tightens

... as a host of rookie midfielders also push for a potential Round 1 spot.

The club has until March 11 to elevate two of the three rookies in contention for elevation — midfielders Anthony Miles and Matt Thomas and ruckman Orren Stephenson.

Former Port Adelaide on-baller Thomas is seen to be marginally in front of former GWS midfielder Miles, taken with the club’s last rookie pick.

If Stephenson is not elevated it hands injury-prone former No. 19 pick Ben Griffiths his chance to save his career in the absence of Ivan Maric (ankle surgery).

Griffiths was handed a one-year contract last year with no takers at the trade table, but impressed against Collingwood last week as a key position player and back up ruckman to Shaun Hampson.

He has played only 19 games in four years and, amid repeated injuries, has stagnated in the VFL despite being a versatile tall with a booming right-foot kick.

Interesting that they rate Thomas ahead of Miles. I wonder if this has come from the club or is just opinion?

I would prefer Miles as mids who can find the ball and push forward to kick goals I value more. However, I would now say based on his aftermatch comments, that Dimma wants Thomas promoted.

Miles disappointed me a bit in the VFL game. Thomas for mine. And Stephenson just because we are desperate.

We could promote both Thomas and Miles, and leave the Big O unless we need him.  We can always place Maric on the LTI list if we need to free up a temporary spot for O but no need to promote him if we don't need him.

Thomas seems a lock.
It's between Miles and Banfield for the second spot.
After watching Banfield on Friday I'm conflicted…………………………...
