Where has our Intent gone??
« on: April 07, 2014, 12:30:22 PM »
Where has it been?

Is this a sign that the players have lost FAITH in Hardwick's game plan???

Why isn't Richmond playing with hunger and the intent???

Are the "really" hurting from last year?

No it's a sign that our players have gotten ahead of themselves, think they are better than what we are.

Pre-season we've heard about top 4 being the aim.

The aim should be to get enough wins to make the eight first and then worry about top 4.

Turned up again on Saturday thinking the game was in the bank (like they did in rd 1) and we got smashed in the first half.

We ain't that good, we ain't Hawthorn  ;D

This used to happen in the days when we'd finish 9th. Everyone would talk us up that natural progression would see us improve and make the 8 the following year. The players would believe the hype, train like millionaires all preseason and subsequently get their coach sacked by mid year.

I thought this year may have been different bc whilst nothing has changed at Punt road and we still love to pump our own tyres up unbelievably, I thought the hurt from the loss to carlton would have inspired us to train longer, harder, and harden us up mentally. rubbish!!

Our intent is injured which is why Hamspud & Stephenson are getting games.

Yep - rinse, repeat, 40 year spin cycle.

At least Melbourne used to go prelim then spoon on a rotating basis.

While we were doing the ninth then spoon routine.

Maybe Hardwick has indeed ushered in a new improved era of "EF & spoon" ....  from "Ninthmond" to "EFmond".

I hear about this all the time. Selfless 1% acts are what we need. I hear that the players don't like each other and they won't go for a ball outside their zone, they won't chase/shepard etc etc etc. 2 main offenders are Delidio and Jack, this is from those who know.
If these guys are doing it then it infects everyone else.
Face facts, we have a paycheck team who don't want to play finals. Thomas has been fantastic. Morris was, but has been infected. I want players with passion. No passion then get out. And our leaders have to lead, not be showboat ponies. Personally I think our team is a cluster f and unless they can sort their defecate out then no one will be reading about us in September. Most kids would give anything to have the opportunity these overpaid poonces have and our players just don't get it.
Me so sad.

Just take the opposition on!

They know we have weapons and when we play direct it bloody works, when chip and 'plough' it around we get eaten alive, it's not trucking rocket science!!!!!! Let's hope someone with some influence is smart enough to see it, look at the last 45 mins of last week........

As ned Flanders once said "Marge, my family can't  live in good intentions"
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Playing safe, conformist football that is restrictive to natural talent and growth does that to you.
If we waited 4 seasons for this to retain position 6-12 middle tier status tio not encomber the growing burden of expectation after 32 years since a GF then were a fooked.

If that was the case we wouldn t have come out at half time breathing fire, wb would have piled on another 9 goals and won by 10g or more ... ::)
