Sorry Ramps but that list just aint going to happen.
Nobody will trade for Chaplin. Matt Thomas won't be delisted. You'll get some smelly jocks maybe for Vickery and some clean jocks for Batchelor.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Thomas??? Would be 2nd in our B&F at the moment.

And isn't an indictment on our playing list?

Ramps, as for your list of who to trade, sorry but you are dreaming. The only one that may get a bit of interest is Edwards and at best it would be a late 2nd rounder. The other 4 not a chance, no one would be interested IMHO

Im not saying there worf anything just saying that I would put up their names for trade. Agree that if Thomas is second in our B&F at this stage its a massive indictment on the club.

Every year we put names up for trade and no one is interested

We can do it again with the names you've floated and we ended in the same spot, no one being interested and people like you and me saying why don't we get serious about it

Didn't we end up seeing each player who left the club winding up at another club?

unless we trade or delist contracted players the only list that should be up at the moment is the 17 players who are currently out of contract.

I don't like trading young developing big men.  Elton is one of those. Played well against the Bummers in the praccy match.  Can play a bit this boy and has filled out quite a bit.  Looks like a man mountain now.
I would give him 2 more years before cutting.  Trade? Only if we get some really good for him which I doubt anyone will give for someone that has played one game.

the list of players who i assume are uncontracted.

batchelor - delist/ may get a late 3rd rounder if lucky.
s edwards - trade/ delist. may or may not have some trade value depending.
king - has a clause in his contract make sure its not met. delist
newman - retire
petterd - just has too many weaknesses in his game. delist.
a edwards - at what 31 and lennon and ohanlon gordon knights hopefully pushing for a game. delist.
helbig - has to improve  a fair bit failing this delist.
arnot - borderline atm keep.
dea - has to improve like helbig  no improvement delist.
astbury - shown improvement keep.
griffiths - shown improvement keep.
elton - developing junior keep.
mcbean - developing junior keep.
mcdonough - as a sml should probably be showing a little bit more  give him time keep.
knights - if he cant get on the park and over injuries delist,  if he can keep.
rookies
stephenson - have to give his spot to a junior ruckman.
darrou - well he either does enough to get promotion or we delist him. atm delist.
williams - has to be in the gun desoite injury.   show some real improvement keep or no improvement delist.
banfield - probably should be given a chance but his skillset for a small has me already wanting him out.

its not as if atm we have to cut contracted players theres plenty of uncontracted options.
would look to get something at least for the following in trades.
batchelor ??  not sure hes worth anything.
foley - should get something for him.
vickery - if frawley wasnt a f/a  would send him to melb in a swap of sorts..some one must see something in this dud. someone will think yep has talent and we can turn him around could get a decent 2nd rounder.

to me id like to cut 6 from the list proper.  id be looking at 1 f/a, 1 trade, 4nd picks  2 mature rookies 2 young rookies  or similar.

would be targeting players along these lines with some give or take on sml/med forwards defenders.
2 quick skillful more outside mid than inside.
2 big bodied inside mids must be able to kick and work on the outside as well. no snails if possible.
2 ruckmen one junior one 22 23 yo.
2 tall forwards
2 tall defenders.

Fair assessment although S Edwards is a f/a so we can't trade him….Darrou is a rookie so if he continues to improve either elevate him or keep as rookie.
