Great idea I reckon, especially for kids.
My kids are always asking me who's that player.

Supporters nicknames would be a better idea
Pitty Grigg won't play this weekend
Jib would look good on the number 6.lol

Great opportunity to give them a record, they have the same number all year and can be found inside.
If they dont go to games, the internet is handy too.

I dont subscribe to the americanization of our game, nor the unnecesararry changes like this..

I'm personally not a fan because it makes us look like premiere league football or basketball or any sport that isn't Australian Rules. I like the number only system. Having the name makes it look all....congested...

Hadn't really thought about the americanization part of it, but I was aware of their names on their jumpers.
I don't watch many other sports that have anything to do with other codes of football (hate them).
So to me it doesn't look american or as "Lamington said in his/her post "it makes us look like premiere league football or basketball" I wasn't aware that they had their names on their backs.
So to me it looks like gurnseys with names on back, not another sport.

Although, I am a traditionalist of footy and probably wouldn't want the names to stay.

And yeah it is a great idea to hand them a record and have a look on the net, I will most certainly keep that in mind, Cheers mate :thumbsup

IMO the advertising on the back is more of an eyesore than the name, but the advertising must stay for us to stay alive and kicking.

It's that simple Spud

Does this mean the team has already been selected for this week or do they produce jumpers for the whole squad? Grigg should have Downhill Skier on the back of his.
