RFC Tagger
« on: April 28, 2014, 07:49:50 PM »
Call me crazy but apart from Daniel Jackson, can anyone name a half effective tagger in the last 15 years.

With Langdon, Kerridge, McAffer, Crowley all taggers who have taken big scalps THIS year... who is our tagger?

Add this to the long to do list. With all the sloppy seconds we picked up how can we not find a tagger run with player. ..

Isn't that what Thomas was supposed to be?

Just a pity he is a 'run 10 metres behind' player.
Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

Could Helbig do it?

Macaffer and Crowley are hack footballers, they don't give a poo about getting a kick, they just stop their man.

Helbig should be able to do this.

It's not a hard role to do.

Why hasn't our team experimented with someone??

It's not like it's revolutionary? Helbig prob too small.

I think Morris would be brilliant. Not a great kick. Great tackler. Is hard enough to do it. Could see him being a real pest to the likes of Selwood and Co.

But hey who needs a tagger. Even Hawthorn have one now.

We have experimented. We use Grigg sometimes. He's just 20m off his man while doing it so no one notices it.

Lol @ Grigg.

His strengths are outside run yet we experiment with the most contested heavy type role. We really do have monkeys in our coaches box.

Probably working on the same theory that put Griffiths in the ruck.....force the soft player into contact and contested situations to bring out the mongrel and desire.....this won't work for Grigg....bloke's an A-grade imposter and master of faking "effort" ....and you can fake a tagging "effort" far more easily than you can fake a ruck contest....
