damning statistics
« on: May 03, 2014, 02:44:35 PM »
From the crew at Footy Live (sportsmate mobile):-

- In 2014, Richmond has played on after a mark only 25% of the time, the 17th lowest in the afl.  :huh3
- In the past three weeks, Richmond has scored 41% of its goals from general play (not set shots) , the 17th lowest in the afl.  :-[
- In 2014, Richmond ranks 18th from being out scored from kick ins.  :banghead
- In 2014 Richmond has kicked to 1 on 1 contests 140 Times. The second most of any club. Unfortunately the opposition wins 74% of these contests.  :facepalm
- Matthew Arnot has averaged 18 pressure acts per game over the last 3 weeks, the second highest at the club. He also averages 6 tackles. a game, the third highest at the club. Unfortunately he has been left out of the side this week.  :huh3
- What do Vickery, Chaplin, Grigg have in common? They average only 1 tackle per game.  :chuck

Ive been banging on abt Arnott from when he was dropped. Disgraceful decision imo, yeah he had a shocker only 8 touches but he did what all good players should do when theyre having a quiet one, do the little things to try and have some sort of impact, 9 tackles shows me he tried his guts out and did his job with pressure acts... But obviously pressure acts don't rate highly with our coaching team bc Griffiths also lays about 5 tackles a game and he was dropped too for a bloke who is lucky to lay 1 tackle a game

On those figures, the only possible explanation for dropping Arnot is that we intend to go all out on the attack this week.

Yeah good luck with Geelong allowing us to do that, even moreso if we can't get even the ball off them.

In a funny sort of way, and our win-loss record doesn’t indicate this, but we are a better side than last year, which is important to us.....but not as important as playing my favorites at the cost of a kid with real heart
Caracella and Balmey.

Richmond stats mean nothing cause they overuse the ball then turn it over 16 possies later & they only moved 30 metres  ;D

Add to the above ...

* We've won just 9 quarters this year. Only Brisbane has won less.

* We're averaging less than two goals in our second quarters this year. We've kicked just 11 goals in total.

do them stats tell you when the other club has pulled their top guns off the field to rest them for next week & they dont care what you score when the game was over at halftime  ;D

Do stats tell you distance gained from passing it around 16 times times in the 50m then in a turnover the other team takes 1 kick for a goal  ;D

Do stats tell you their rucks are on the bench & their taller mids are rucking against your ruckman cause the game was dusted but it will show you winning the ruck against a mid  ;D reminds me of Goodes being maned up in a Sydney game by one of our smaller mids & that was funny cause he just shook them off & kicked goals

Stats dont tell you your over using the ball, it will show you had the ball. 20 possies but not what you done with them. We all know Richmond take 5 x 10 metre kicks to get it to our back 50m  & turn it over but the other team wont get a inside 50 cause they kicked it from 55 metres out with 1 kick but stats will show we are dominating.

Stats dont tell you when the game is being slowed down & the winning team is moving backwards but will show you controlling the ball  ;D

Stats are useless & half the tackle stats are useless cause the ball has already been off loaded & Shane Edwards is still hanging on like a jockey trying to stay on a horse.  ;D he is that weak the player he is tackling is still running to the next contest with him on his side  :rollin

Heres another look in Dimmas toilet.;

We are ranked 17th for bounces in 2014.

The majority of our players havent recorded a single bounce in 6 games to date.

No player averages more than 1.0 bounce per game.

Nobody wants to take the game on.
