The FTF question and the last one I was curious about but sadly the questions wered dodged.
I shouldnt have bothered to read this and it just further lowers my faith.

The FTF question was mine

And I was disappointed with the answer because it doesn't actually address the question

Oh well

Give her a break will you all
Can't do the ironing and be on the internet at the same time .lol ;)

Not even close  to being funny jack

You know I am joking

Yeah I know you were but that still doesn't make it funny.

l will give you the answer, The FTF will run for years & years to bleed the supporters & make the rich richer. its just another way of getting money out of the supporters like the name on the bricks & all the other rubbish they come up with

Good question, poor answer.
Haven't been at all happy with the way the FTF has carried on seemingly forever....

If you don't want to donate, don't donate.   ;)
I donated once. Probably wont donate again untill I'm out of debt.
I see no problem with the club leaving it open for people with cah to splash.

Jackstar is back!!!

Willy, although it's well documented that I am against the FTF appearing to have no end date after the CEO said at the launch it would run for 2years Max. Agree if people want to donate then it's up to them but...

I am now more concerned about the club's apparent reliance on the FTF as a major revenue raiser. What I want to know is what they have planned for when it stops being the money pit it's been for the me last 3 years.

If it raised them say 1-2million last season and they've budgeted the same this year which I doubt very much theyre going to get this year in light of the pathetic season we are having. So what happens to our bottom line. What contingency do they have in place, that was the purpose of that question, ditto my question about membership.

On both Peggy avoided answering the question and that is a concern

They been relaid ?

No, supposedly once the Dyer stand is finished. Believe it when it happens

She deflected comments that weren't within her scope , CEO or coacH are there to answer that, handled with aplomb  :clapping

You are kidding right? Actually I should know better than to ask  ::)

I am supporter of Peggy's but the facts are she is as President the ultimate head of our Cub, the people you mention are answerable to her and she is ultimately answerable to us.

IMHO she could of; should of offered more insight if she expects the membership to take the Cub seriously rather than being "spin doctor Central"

Fair enough WP. I agree with that perspective. The FTF should only be used as a 'bonus' revenue stream.
I just don't think it needs to be shut down.

The club needs to wean itself off the FTF and explore other more secure forms of revenue raising.Since losing those pokies venues it appears we have done jack to replace that income

Richmond should be actively working with the council to develop Punt Rd Oval as a mini precinct for people to congregate for food and a drink before a game.
It's also a great venue for us to encourage other clubs to play curtain raiser reserves games.

Unique location but not leveraged.
It's that simple Spud

If the season continues on the current path, membership will no doubt drop next year, and the current disillusion as is starting to show even here on this site starts to grow, people will become increasingly unwilling to reach into their pockets, then what will the club do to make up the revenue shortfall?.,,cut back the football department again?

the one i would have liked to see a follow question to was when she said the board is confident hardwick is the man for the job. i would have asked straight away who advised the bord on this and are there independent judges assesing the decisions the board makes.

What?

Companies don't have outside independent judges to assess board decision.

That responsibility falls to the shareholders or in the case of a footy club the members. They are the judges and can do something about it if the majority chooses.

The members elect the majority of the board and accordingly charge them with making decisions regarding how the company run. The board pus in place the management structure etc and makes those appointments
some footy clubs have gone thru that process.
when was the last time members actually influenced any decision they make. clearly very important areas are not being revued or scrutinised the least of which is list management and recruiting.  if asked im sure peggy would trot out the board is happy with the advise it gets but from whom does that advice come from.

who advises the board on all things footy,  who is assesing if the advise is correct surely there are checks and balances and all areas are ultimately accountable.

The day members start influencing football decisions is the day you may as well shut the doors. Its not some hippie commune having a collective vote on whether they should use horse poo or bull crap to fertilise their dope crop.

As with any organisation that has a board structure, the day to day decisions are made by the board and those they appoint. These are the people entrusted by the members/shareholders to run the show, and they are then held to account by the members/shareholders.

The world is full of people that sit back and constantly criticise as if they can do better, but most don't have the bottle to put it on the line and put them selves into a position where their own views become something more than just pee and wind.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."
